(These events happen before Season 1 of the show)

The crescent moon hung high in the sky, dimly lighting the dark streets along with the few streetlights. A thick layer of fog had settled upon the early hours of the morning, obscuring many buildings and trees from sight. The quiet was interrupted by a dark figure running across one of the streets, falling and then standing to its feet abruptly to continue its escape. Gunshots sounded, blasting through the once quiet morning hours causing it to sound like a warzone.

A shower of bullets rained down on the figure, who avoided the bullets by sliding across the ground, slamming into a nearby streetlight and darting around the other side of the brick building. Although the bullets didn't seem to touch the figure, torn fabric revealed the bloodied skin beneath it. The red liquid oozed from the scrapes and wounds that had been a result of the friction against the asphalt. A string of cusses sounded from the dark figure's hooded head as it turned to unleash its attack on the enemy.

As soon as the group rounded the corner to trap the figure, the shadows around them danced around and latched onto them, holding them into place. The attackers let out shrieks as the shadow like extensions constricted against their legs and arms to cut off blood flow. Amidst the initial panic, the dark figure stood silently and watched. After a few moments, the figure extended its arm out and a scythe appeared in the figure's hand. It was comprised completely out of the darkness around them. The figure's once pale hands were now obsidian as the darkness crept up its veins.

"I told you not to let her get anywhere near shadows or darkness! You don't listen do you?" A raspy, annoyed shout came from behind the group of trapped attackers. "What does keep her in the streets by the lights mean to you?"
The ground shifted beneath them all as a bright red glow surrounded them. The dark figure darted away, releasing the attackers from its shadowy grip. As soon as the attackers tried to dart forward, the leader of the group halted them. "Let me handle her. Report back to the Boss that I have the situation handled."

"Yes sir!" They all shouted in unison. Turning heel, they ran off in the opposite direction of where the figure had disappeared into. The leader let out a growl, readjusting the hat that perched daintily on top of his ginger hair.

"God Enchi, you're going to be the death of me."

The last thing a person wants to experience is waking up in a strange bed, in a strange place, with little to no recollection on the previous events of the day. Soft morning light poured through the nearby window illuminating the small room. Fumiko blinked her eyes open, groaning at the brightness of the room. Damn. I hurt all over. Her eyes scanned the room, unfamiliar with the place. All that she could gather was that she was in an infirmary of some sort, but it didn't look familiar at all. I have no idea where I'm at.

A sigh passed over her lips as she readjusted her aching body on the mattress. The muscles in her legs and arms screamed in pain as she shifted. Her eyes squeezed shut for just a moment, waiting for the wave of momentary pain to pass over. Ah yes, and her memory was still a foggy haze as her brain scrambled to retrieve the lost events of the previous day. Still nothing. Another sigh left her lips. Might as well get some rest while I can. Maybe I'll be able to remember what the hell happened.
