Chapter Two

Liam

I had just got out of my car and thats when I saw her, climbing out of her car grabbing some boxes and heading off to the dorm block. I know I shouldnt like her, but I cant help it. I finally got my stuff together and went to find my dorm.

I walked into room 204 to see my roommate already there sat on his bead reading a book. Of course, I get a nerd for a roommate. Oh hey man, his smile was far to large for his face, Im Harry. Liam I said as I started unpacking. He went back to reading his book whilst I finished unpacking and set up my tv.

Later, I decided to look around a bit and found a coffee shop on campus called The Black Rifle I went in and ordered a hot chocolate and called Chase, Hey. He said after finally answering. Hey, are you near campus Im in this coffee shop and wanted to see where u and Bailey are at. Yeah, we are on our way there. Youre in The Black Rifle, right? Yeah, thats it. See you in a bit then. I hung up. I looked around the room and noticed her. For a brief second, we made eye contact, I couldve sworn I saw a small smile on her face, before her eyes darted away.

I was about to text Chase to see where he was when he and Bailey walked through the door. They started looking around the room before they saw me and came to join me at my table. Hey, man. Bailey called as he sat down. Hey guys. I replied. What course did u pick again Liam? Chase asked. Oh Finance, what did u pick? Economics. What did you pick Bailey? I asked. Same as u Liam, Econ. Chase then asked me, Hows your roommate? Alright, I guess. I walked in and he was reading a book so that about sums him up to be honest. Ha imagine. This is why me and Bailey live off campus. Yeah, might end up joining you the way my roommates looking. Hey man, I know you and Mack havent always got along but... take it easy this year, shes been looking forward to uni for forever. Chase added with a more sombre tone. I sighed and took a deep breath before I said, Yeah, sure hey listen, I know she wont listen if its me, but could you tell her Im sorry about being a dick to her at school before. Yeah, Ill let her know. Chase responded. Bailey finally spoke up, Chase its 3 oclock we gotta go. Oh yeah, Liam we gotta go we got class see you later. We all said our goodbyes and they left. Once they had gone, I looked around to see if Mackenzie was still there so I could try to apologize myself, but she had already left so I decided to go back to my dorm.

Once I got to my hallway, outside my room I saw Harry, with Mack. A pang of jealousy shot through me as I watched them laughing, I pick up my pace and rush over to them. Harry, I say sternly, we have a dorm to arrange here, come on man. I started slightly shoving him into our dorm. As soon as I shut the door and I lost it. Back off man. Her brother is my best mate, and he doesnt want scruffs like you around her. Woah, calm down Im sorry I was just introducing myself. He replied with his stupidly posh, uptight accent. If I ever see you so much as make one flirty joke towards her again I swear to you it will not end well. Ok. Ok. Ill leave her alone. I sat on my bed and turned on my tv. Once Harry realised I was done he left the room.

Mackenzie

I had just met Harry, we were getting along and laughing before Liam

stormed in and dragged him away. I just dont understand him. I went into my dorm and sat down on my grey duvet. I dont know what happened at the café earlier but we just looked into each others eyes and he seemed almost attractive, no , I couldnt allow myself to think that. Hes still the same Liam from school, the one who would bully me and my friends.

Miley came back from the shower room and it started getting dark out so we ordered takeout and watched a movie. During the movie we were talking about our class schedules and realised out only class together is Economics. Shoot Chase said that Liams major is econ. I mentioned. Its fine we can just ignore him, its only one class anyway. Miley said. I nodded my head in agreement when there was a knock on our door. Oh its the takeout. I was saying as Miley got up and opened the door, Mack. Its not takeout. She stated stubbornly. I got up and went to the door. Liam. What now. Liam, what do you want. I spat. Hey Mackenzie, could we talk out here for a second? he asked, almost friendly. Fine. I stepped into the hallway and shut the door behind me, What is it then? So, uh I just wanted to say sorry, he actually seemed to mean it, you know, for everything. I couldnt believe that Liam Baker just apologised to me. I stayed silent. You dont have to accept my apology or anything, I just wanted you to know that I am really sorry. He added. Uh, yeah. I said at a loss for words. Ill let you get back to Miley now I just wanted to let you know. Bye Mackenzie Bye. I muttered so quietly I barley heard myself. I went straight back into the dorm and told Miley everything he said. So, let me get this straight, Miley was just as confused as I was, Liam Baker came to our dorm to apologise for being a dick during school. Yep, pretty much. I responded. And all you said was uh, yeah. Pretty much. We spoke about Liams apology until our takeout arrived then finished our movie and went to bed.
