Ana's POV
I step into the heavily armoured elevator and push down the "B" for basement. As soon as I arrive I'm met by guards, across the hall there's a vault with two more men surrounding it's door.
"What's going on?" I ask, my face twisted into something nasty as I look around at the five werewolves who are suddenly flanking me. No one answers. I roll my eyes and walk with my new escorts.
"Hey, you!" I yell and point at the angry blonde from before, he turns around and his facial features change alarmingly fast as he takes me in. He doesn't like me, at all. "You're the one with a stick up his ass who yelled at me earlier!"
I can tell from my peripheral view some of the guards are exchanging amused looks.
"The prisoners are through there" he says coldly and nods at the vault's door.
"Marvellous" I smirk and clap my hands. We take two steps toward the door and the group of werewolf guards around me follows suit. I raise a hand and they stop short. "Are you darlings going to be a permanent attachment?" I motion at the protective formation they have around me.
"Yes, ma'am. It's protocol for when a high rank male mate is not present in the territory" a guard to my right says in an excruciatingly deep voice, he's deep skinned and tall. Very intimidating.
"I'm sorry, what did you say?" I look around confused. "Male mate... Not present..." and then I realise, "Seth's not present in the territory?"
"Uh, indeed, Beta Parker went on an emergency business trip to Seattle..." Blondie trails off when he sees my expression.
Oh, boy. Well, Sethy is gon' have something nasty waiting for him when he gets back.
Me.
I come out of my daze with my mouth open. Closing my mouth shut I smile and masking my surprise give a humourless chuckle. "Well... shall we, gentlemen?" I motion toward the door.
The guards and Blondie blink and recover from my mood swing. One of the men moves to stoically open the door. A steep, black stone staircase leads down into an even darker hallway, but as soon as we set foot on the floor, lights flicker on. Oh, the technology.
In the wall there are signs that say different things, but we move towards the direction of the "Interrogation Rooms" and "Office". The same guard who spoke earlier opens the door to I.R. 3, the door is white and very thick, it clanks and squeaks as he open its locks.
In the middle of a big room sit both vampires each strapped to a chair. "Hello," I say and smile at the vampires. Their response is much less polite than my salutation. Their glares are charcoal black and their skins bone white, veins jutting out of their arms.
The guards don't let me stay and push me through another door, to the left of the room. On the opposite side to where we enter there are computer screens and immediately to my right is a heavily tinted window that allows us to see the room beyond but nothing to be seen from the outside in.
Nice.
"We ran their faces through our system. They're brothers, Viktor and Andrei Golovanov. They used to belong to the Omsk Clan, but were shunned for unknown reasons around five years ago. Went rogue ever since, they run all sort of errands for the highest bidder. Finding, killing, abductions... You name it" informs Blondie, scrolling through the screen, showing his findings with precision.
"How cute" I say and he rolls his eyes at my dark humour.
I chuckle and slide into the previous room, causing the guards to startle and move after me.
