Loud cheers and laughter erupted inside the club as five people jumped and danced to the raucous music beats. They were ecstatic after successfully defending their thesis proposal, which they had been working on for the entire semester. After months of sleepless nights and numerous breakdowns, they can finally sleep every night without worrying about their future, particularly the prospect of graduating. They can now be confident that they will march down the center of the stage and accept their diplomas with big smiles on their faces.
"We're finally done with this thesis bullshit; now all we have to worry about is our practicum next year."
Lisa, the group's leader, stated after they had finished chugging their glasses of beer. Her classmates rolled their eyes, scoffed, and dropped their buttocks in their corresponding chairs as the mention of practicum dampened their excitement.
Practicum is where they will be disseminated to their respective organizations and trained for months as if they were in a real paying job. Aside from learning, it is a method of preparing students to experience what it is like to work in a professional environment.
"We still have plenty of time to prepare, so forget about it for now and let's just have fun!"
Jisoo, the one who cooks and buys meals for every group meeting, raised her glass for another toast.
Every group has a sluggish member, and Jisoo is the one for this group. However, despite her being the group's black sheep, the others don't give a fuck because Jisoo is also the funny one who entertains them when they're all on the verge of a mental breakdown.
Besides, she isn't completely useless. Food is the source of energy for the body. The others cannot function properly without her.
"Totally!"
Moonbyul and Jeongyeon yelled at the same time, mimicking Jisoo's action by raising their glasses and clinking them together. Lisa's closest friend, whom she's come to regard as her bestfriend, laughed and agreed. Although she, like Lisa, is concerned about the future, she refuses to think about it for the time being and focuses on the fun this night will bring.
Lisa rolled her eyes, though she thought they were correct. They came here to celebrate, not to talk about their future schemes. Her friends were right. They should just have fun for this evening and forget about everything else in the meantime.
--The other three, jisoo, jeongyeon, and moonbyul, are now wilding in the middle of the dancefloor, grinding on random girls with whom they're hooking up. Unlike the three brazen girls, the two who are silently sitting at their table are in between the cool and nerdy types. So flirting and socializing with girls would be a hard thing to accomplish.
They can flirt though But they are afraid that the person they will approach will dislike them and worst, make them uncomfortable. So, if there is someone here that are brave enough to flirt with them first, that's their cue to flirt back.
"Lisa!"
Lisa's best friend and trusty right hand, Freen Sarocha, lightheartedly tugged her wrist to get her attention. She leaned in close to Lisa's ear and subtly pointed to the left table not far away before whispering,
"That girl over there has been staring at you for quite some time."
The multicolored light in the club is outrageously flickering, and some corners of the room are dim, making it difficult for Lisa to find the table Freen was pointing to, especially now that the alcohol is starting to infiltrate her system. Her vision isn't as clear as it once was.
