You’ve got it all figured out,
The sadness in the world,
It affects you the most,
Society broke you down,
And you never think you’re good enough,
Never think you’re worth anything,
I don’t see what’s wrong with that half smile you always wear,
Those sad puppy dog eyes,
With a heart so pure,
Untouched beauty,
I can hardly figure you out,
A mystery unadorned,
With eyes like a melting sunset,
Scars that run deep in your heart,
Always living on,
I’ll have to say something rash,
I think you have the most amazing smile,
Eyes clouded by thoughts,
Makes you seem like you see more than me,
A burning fire with a crystalline soul,
A laughter that doesn’t quite reach inside,
How do I reach you if you seem so far?
You never like the attention one pays to you,
A selfless heart with no pride,
Such sadness contained in one heart,
How do you dance in a golden light?
How do you fill up every corner with color and light?
Suddenly I see perhaps—this is true beauty.
Always so modest and shy,
How do you fly so high?
Your heart aches with the world,
You love so much you end up hurting yourself,
“Why does love hurt so much?”
We love—to hurt for others,
Yet love hurts others,
It makes you so strong and beautiful,
You’re the most beautiful person in the world,
That’s what’s wrong with you,
I think that’s the biggest problem in the world,
How you can still find hope in this world,
You can still find this world beautiful—even with all it’s pain and hatred,
You showed me how a world can be so beautiful,
But you can’t even see what’s even more captivating—yourself.
