Part 1 - Starting

Ichika's POV
It's pitch black, I feel... dizzy. What am I lying on..? It feels rough..
"...Ch!... Chi!!"
Huh..? Who..?
"..chi!!.. Ichi!!"
I force myself to open my eyes, for the first few seconds my vision is blurry, frantically looking around. Am I sitting at a desk..? Is this a classroom...?
I look around and make eye contact with a familiar face.
"Saki...?"
Her eyes lit up as she engulfed me into a big hug
"I was worried you weren't going to wake up!" Her voice sounds worried
I rub her back, reassuring her.
"Don't worry, I'm fine."
"Where are we? This isn't Miya girls Highschool.."
She let go of me and there was sadness in her eyes.
"I don't know... I woke up here too. There are no windows and the doors are locked, I've tried but I can't open them."
I finally stood up from my seat and took a good look around. No windows just like Saki said. I walked up to the classroom door, giving it a push and a pull. I can sense Saki standing behind me, staring longingly.
"You were right.. what is going on?"
"I.. I don't know! I'm scared Ichi! My brother and parents must be so worried!" She started clinging onto my arm while tears threatened to fall from her eyes. I gave her a reassuring hug. "I'm sure there's an explanation, don't worry we will get home."
She looked up at me. "You mean it..?" No. I'm scared too. "Yeah, don't worry." She lets go of me. "Okay.. I trust you." We exchange smiles.

"Who is talking about going home??" An unknown voice calls out. "Who's there!"
"Puhuhuhuhu..!" ... Is that..? "A toy bear?" Saki calls out, completing my thoughts. The bears expression changes into an angry one and its eyes light up red. "Hey! Who are you calling a toy bear! I have a name and it's Monokuma!" The bear.. I mean Monokuma shouts out in an annoyed voice. "Mono..kuma..?" "Now that Miss Hoshino has FINALLY woken up.. We can all start!! Fufu.." Monokuma speaks again. Suddenly the doors open, revealing the rest of the school. "Please make your way to the school GYM, where we will all start! Don't be late Puhuhu!" Then it's gone, it just disappeared. "It..It's gone!...The doors are open!" Saki exclaims from her previous shocked state. "What do we do?" That's a great question, do we listen to the bear.. or do we try to leave. I ponder in silence for a while. "Ichi...?" "I think we should go to the gym, if we couldn't even open this door, I doubt the exit would be even possible." I tell Saki, while grabbing onto her hand. She interlocks her fingers with mine. "Alright, don't you dare let us get separated!"

The school was... empty to say the least. It wasn't molding or anything but it did seem abandoned for a while. There was cobwebs and dust everywhere. Noticeably, there was also cracks on the wall, larger than normal wall cracks. Were there people here before us? Was this a regular school before? "We're here.." Saki's uncertain voice snaps me out of my trains of thought. "Alright, let's go in." Saki nods her head in response.

When we entered, we were surprised to say the least. There was.. around 22 other students in the room. Some of them I recognized. Before I had the chance to talk to them, we heard a familiar voice. "Andddd that makes 24!! Hello Everybody! I am your wonderful host Monokuma! It is my pleasure to have all you Ultimates here today!" The bear, it's on the stage with a microphone. "What the hell is this!? Let us leave! Have we been kidnapped!?" A girl with short brown hair calls out. "That's right, let us go! The police will find us!" Another girl who was next to her calls out. She has pink hair and looks familiar but I can't see properly.
"Calm down calm down! Let me get the basic through first! First of all, yes none of you are here by will, but it is because you are all Ultimates! Super Highschool Level Talents!" Whispering can be heard. The most common phrase being "All of us?" It's not common to see an Ultimate, some usually have the label and don't mention it. For me... my whole friend-group including myself had the title, but decided not to tell anyone. "Since you are all very special, I decided! Why not hold a special game for very special people!" Monokuma continued to speak. "Annnnd so, you are all here to participate in your very own killing game!! Puhuhuhuhu!" ...

Killing game? I felt my blood run cold, what did he mean by that? Surely in like.. a video game. "And I don't mean in a video game, we mean real cold blooded murder!" Oh.
"What the hell is that supposed to mean!!" A boy with orange hair calls out. "Everyone check your left pocket!" As I reach into my pocket I feel a device.. what is this? "This is your very own Monopad! It explains all the game rules. Allow me to explain them!"

* Rule #1: Students must live at the Ultimate Academy for the remainder of their foreseeable future.
* Rule #2: Once a murder takes place, all surviving students must participate in a class trial.
* Rule #3: If the blackened is exposed during the class trial, they alone will be executed.
* Rule #4: If the blackened is not exposed, all remaining students will be executed.
* Rule #5: If the blackened survives the class trial, they will graduate and re-enter the outside world.
* Rule #6: The killing game and class trials will continue until only two surviving students remain.
* Rule #7: "Nighttime" is from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. The dining hall and gymnasium are off-limits at night.
* Rule #8: Violence toward Monokuma, the headmaster of the Ultimate Academy, is strictly prohibited.
* Rule #9: Monokuma will never directly commit a murder.
* Rule #10: Your Monopads are very important items. Please do not damage them.
* Rule #11: The "Body Discovery Announcement" will play when three or more students discover a body.
* Rule #12: With minimal restrictions, you are free to explore the campus at your discretion.
* Rule #13: Students who violate these rules will be immediately exterminated
* Rule #14: Further, there may be new additions to the school rules according to the convenience of the headmaster.
