Disclaimer: Wrong turn is not my creation, but this fic idea is all mine. I hope whoever reads this enjoys, as I know there isn't many fics for wrong turn out there, but I couldn't resist. Enjoy :)
Prologue
Bear Mt. Rd, West Virginia, 2003
They sat in silence, the loud rumbling and rattle of the yellow 1948 Dodge B-Series pick up truck they were in being the only noise, barely passing any traffic as they made their way to the nearest police station.
Somehow, miraculously, they had survived.
They beat the odds.
Not without some blood and scars, but they were alive. They got lucky. They fought tooth and nail and came out the other side.
Jessie gripped at the flimsy steering wheel tighter, glancing down to the ripped paper map that sat between them, guiding them to safety.
This time, they were following the highway.
No more back roads. No more wrong turns. No more nasty surprises.
Only a few more miles and they would be safe. They could tell their story and bring some kind of peace to all those families left without answers. No matter how gruesome, they deserved to know.
Jessie's mind went back to the small plastic gem filled tiara she found in that shack and began to find herself wondering who the little girl was it had once belonged to.
She hoped she didn't suffer. She hoped that, however she died, it was quick and painless. No innocent child deserves to end up on some sick bastards plate to feed their sick obsession.
She spared another quick glance to Chris, reaching out to briefly touch his arm to draw his attention to her.
"Hey" she whispered, "it's over"
"It's over" he repeated, holding his arm that was in the makeshift sling to his chest, "those motherfuckers are burnt barbecue by now"
She couldn't help but snort, a small smile pulling at her lips.
They fried their asses straight back to the hell they deserved, putting them some place where they couldn't hurt anyone else.
"You know... I bet this tank has enough gas to get us to Raleigh" she smirked, "I'm sure this story would make one hell of an ice breaker. You'd be guaranteed the job on the spot"
Chris chuckled, "screw the interview. It was a bad omen anyway"
"Yeah, you're probably right" she shrugged, "we just need to get as far away from here as possible"
Chris' gaze travelled to the wing mirror, watching the road disapear behind them.
"... And never look back"
...
Unfortunately for them, it wasn't over. When it came to hillbilly cannibals, all bets were off. They were designed to kill and eat and not much else. Out there, back in the woods, there was still one that survived that explosion... and he was hungry.
A/N) just an intro/prologue to set the scene and gather interest. Hope you all enjoyed and please review - thank you :) x
