Ian's lips were always sensitive.
Wherever he went, he had to carry along his trusty cherry chapstick. Apply after breakfast, lunch, dinner, and whenever else he thought about it. Most of the time, Anthony would joke about it and irritate him by saying little things like, "Oh, putting on makeup again?". Not that it usually mattered. Anything, even the teasing, was bearable compared to the burning sensation that ravaged his lips now.
"Ugh... How much longer are we gonna be walking?" Ian grumbled, lips searing with pure agony. Of course, it wasn't bad enough that he was screaming in pain or anything dramatic, but it still hurt like hell - in a scorching way. The comedy duo was venturing through the park, occasionally stopping to sit on squeaky swings and rusty slides to mimic the good old days. Anthony still liked the park, although his age usually portrayed the image of him being a twenty year-old dumbass. This, after all, was the real reason that they went to this partially abandoned park and not the polished plastic park that was much more popular.
The action of milling around the park around noon became a periodic thing with Ian and Anthony. Ian really didn't care for the actual park, but seeing the immature glint in Anthony's eye allowed him to deal with it. Besides, walks were good for exercise.
Anthony suddenly stopped advancing through the playground. Ian also froze at his friend's side, hoping for a response to his earlier quarry. By this time, they were right next to yet another rickety swing set.
"Okay, what's bothering you?" Anthony questioned, an irritable undertone detectable in his voice.
Ian frowned. "Why do you ask?"
"Dude, that's like the third time you've asked when we're leaving. I'm not an idiot." Anthony appeared pretty fed up.
"Uh... Nevermind. Let's just keep going."
"Whatever."
Again, they began trudging forwards, although their pace was noticeably slower than before. The wind picked up, which didn't help Ian's condition. He began desperately running his tongue over his lips, doing anything to sate the flames. He looked to his right, where Anthony's lips glimmered with... Chapstick?!
By now, Ian was licking his lips frequently enough to seem like a deprived pedophile at an elementary school. Damn, it was burning...
He finally shot the question that had been on the tip of his tongue throughout the duration of the entire walk. "You got any chapstick on you?"
Anthony blinked with surprise and halted his heavy stride, which was quickly mimicked by Ian. "Sorry dude... Left it at the house."
Ian groaned in irritation. Not only was Anthony a hypocrite for making fun of Ian for constantly using chapstick when he also used it, but he had left his stick at home. Silently fuming, he bit his lower lip to hopefully crush the pain out. Of course, it didn't work out that way.
"Uh... Your lip is bleeding," Anthony stated uncertainly, pointing at Ian's mouth. Frowning, Ian let his lip slide out from between his teeth and rubbed a finger across his lip. Sure enough, there was a small splotch of blood on his finger. The stinging of his lips grew, and his eyes slightly watered in pain.
"I know this is gonna be weird, but... Here." Anthony swiped a finger across his own lips to cover it in the flame-sating substance. He jabbed his lubricated finger towards Ian, who simply brushed his hand aside and pressed their lips together.
Woah.
The surface of Ian's lips were chapped beyond comparison, and Anthony unconsciously began pushing harder against him. Wait... Wasn't this the part where Ian was supposed to pull away and apologize for his unnecessary actions? No? Well, it's not like Anthony was planning on going anywhere anyways... He was beginning to taste Ian's blood, which was pretty strange, but pushed past it to repair Ian's damaged lips. And, truth be told, this wasn't all that bad.
They broke apart within seconds, gasping for precious oxygen. Ian began, "Sorry, but my lips were really-" Anthony forced their lips together again, and Ian melted against him. His lips were now burning with something other than pain, and he had always thought Anthony was hot...
Maybe he could learn to get used to this park.
