It's been over two years since the disaster that happened with Simmons in China. It's pouring outside, but the sounds of the rain hitting the windows of the messy apartment were relaxing and calming. Jill sits on her bed with a newspaper in her hand. Before she could begin reading it, she hears a knock on her door. She quickly grabs a robe and rushes to the door. Jill quietly opens it and is met by a mailman, who says he has a letter for her. Jill takes it and thanks the mailman by nodding. She looks at the information on the envelope and notices the name 'CLAIRE REDFIELD' written on it. She gently but quickly opens it. It was a letter. Jill unfolded it, and began reading it:
"Dear Jill,
I understand you are busy and are having a rough time recovering from what happened in Africa, but I need to confess something. When I first met you back when you and Chris were in S.T.A.R.S., I instantly gained some sort of affection for you. It wasn't until we hung out for the first time that I realized it. I was in love with you. Your determination and passion for the safety of others resonated with me. To be honest, when I first heard that you "died", I was completely heartbroken, and I nearly broke down crying. I understand if you don't feel the same way about me, but I wanted to get it off my chest before I head to Mexico next week. Hope to see you again soon.
Your's truly,
Claire Redfield."
A tear shed down Jill's face. No one had ever expressed their love to her like that before. Suddenly tears shed out of both her eyes. Jill knew she couldn't wait, she quickly grabbed some clothes and rushed to put them on. She had no time to work on her hair. She grabbed her keys and ran to her car at high speed. She made her way to Claire's apartment. So many thoughts went through her head while she barely went past the speed limit.
A couple minutes go by as Claire sits in her apartment room. She exhales with a small amount of stress leaving her body. She didn't know if Jill had gotten her letter yet. She had some business to do, so she opens her laptop and begins working. Suddenly, she heard a knock on her door. She got up and opened it. Jill was standing at the front door.
"Jill, what are you-"
Before Claire could say anymore, Jill gave her a tight hug with tears still shedding down her face. Claire realized that she got the letter, and obviously shared the same feelings as her. Claire hugged back and started crying herself. "I love you too." Jill hiccuped, slightly struggling to speak due to the excessive crying.Claire closed the door behind her, and continued to cuddle Jill. "I wish you'd t-tell me sooner..." Jill sobbed and held Claire even tighter. "I was scared. Scared you wouldn't-" Said Claire before being interrupted by Jill, saying "There's no need to be scared around me, Claire."
She eventually stopped crying and wiped her tears away. Jill moved her hands to Claire's hips, and looked at her face. She slowly leaned in, feeling her warm breath on her face. Their lips touched. Both of them felt calm and relaxed. Jill then slightly parted her lips, allowing Claire to slip her tongue inside. Jill could smell the fragrance of Claire's perfume and felt a sense of happiness and sensuality.
Jill guides Claire to the corner of the apartment and gently pushes her on top of her bed. She gets on top of her, and they continue to kiss. Ecstasy surged through both their bodies. They were both out of breath, so they parted from each other. She ran her fingers lightly through Jill's hair, which felt silky and smooth.
Jill started to kiss her neck. Claire giggled as it tickled slightly. She had the biggest smile on her face. This was a dream come true for Claire. She had waited 18 years for a moment like this, and it finally happened.
"How about you stay for the night?"
"Absolutely." Jill smiled. "I love you, so freakin' much."
"I love you too, Jill." Claire muttered, kissing Jill on the forehead. They started to cuddle and softly kiss each other. They spent the night together, and Jill gave Claire an experience that she never had before. After a long, eventful night, they fell asleep.
Hours passed by, it was now morning. Jill wakes up to the sound of a shower turning. It was Claire, finishing cleaning up after the wonderful night she had. Jill got up and stretched her muscles for a short while.
"If you're up, you can work on your hair while I'm getting dressed!" Yelled Claire from across the room. Jill searched around for a hair tie, and finally found one on Claire's nightstand.
"You don't mind if I use one of your hair ties, do you?" Asked Jill, picking it up. "Not at all." Claire responded. "I don't need them right now, anyway."Jill used the hair tie to put her own hair in a ponytail. Claire finished getting dressed, wearing a red shirt with a black jacket, and a regular pair of jeans. Claire walked up to Jill and gave her a kiss on the cheek. "So, I guess this is goodbye for a while?" Jill questioned, remembering Claire saying in the letter that she was going to Mexico.
"Actually," Claire grabbed her phone and pressed a couple buttons. "I was thinking of something else." She cancelled her trip and instead wanted to take Jill on a date. Jill was ecstatic, hugging Claire and giving her a big kiss on the cheek.
"If you don't mind telling me, what exactly are we gonna do today?" Asked Jill, loosening her hug. "I was thinking we could grab something to eat and just walk around town." Replied Claire. "That'd be lovely." Said Jill, giving Claire a gentle kiss on the lips.
Jill grabbed her keys from the kitchen counter and walked out to her car. She opened the passenger door for Claire. She thanked her and then both stepped into the car. They drove off to a local restaurant, which was Claire's favorite food joint.
Claire and Jill stepped out of the car and walked up to the restaurant. While waiting in line, they heard a voice call out to them. Jill turned around to see one of her former S.T.A.R.S. teammates, Rebecca Chambers.
"Rebecca, is that you?" Jill asked, seeing Rebecca sitting at a table already.
"Jill! I didn't think I'd see you here." Replied Rebecca, also noticing Claire. "Good to see you too, Claire!"
"Good to see you as well. How are you?" Said Claire, grabbing the small tray of food that her and Jill ordered. "Mind if we sit with you for a bit?" She asked.
"Sure thing!" Answered Rebecca. Jill and Claire sat down on the chairs opposite of Rebecca.
Rebecca took a sip of her coffee and said "I'm doing great, therapy's been super helpful. How about you?" Claire replied with "It's been alright. Nothing too crazy."
"I haven't seen you two in the same room since '97. Is there something going on?" Rebecca asked, taking another sip of her coffee. Claire was hesitant to reply, before she could mutter a response, Jill responded with "We're on a date." Rebecca's eyes widened. She put down her coffee and said "Oh, that's awesome! I'm glad for you both."
"Thank you." Jill said, with a slight amount of stress leaving her body. Claire and Jill continued to eat their food and talk to Rebecca. Once they were done, they said their goodbyes to each other and went on their way. Claire and Jill walked down around town together, enjoying the scenery and taking several pictures.
After a few hours, Claire's legs started to tire, so it was time for her to head back home. Jill happily drove her home, although was sad that their day was over. Before Claire left the car, Jill gave Claire a soft kiss on the lips with a faint "I love you." Claire responded back with "I love you too." She exited the car and went back into her apartment. And so, Jill drove back home and their date had concluded.
Claire shut her apartment door and leaned against it, shedding tears of joy. The heavy burden she had been carrying for several years had finally been lifted.
