(Jaycee)
I didn't want to come back school the next day, it felt humiliating being near Hermes after yesterday and I didn't feel like answers Jessica and Louis questions right now. But my parents forced me to go today—even though I almost had my daddy in the palms of my hands after he learned someone broke his baby girl heart, but my darn mother talked him into making me go.
I was putting posters up in my locker since I didn't want to look at the plain ugly thing when I caught a whiff of hair. It smelt just like...well, cookies. As Hermes walk passed me, I turned my head and watched his walk down to his locker. The hood of his jacket was up on his head and when he reached his locker and saw he looked so tired, I knew he knew he looked like crap. Not so handsome today. It looks like he just throw on whatever was closest to him.
I was glad Jessica and Louis weren't around since they had to go somewhere about joining some clubs this year. I wasn't so sure if they was a good idea, but my mom was right. I had to make him see—well, how great I can be. I may not be social with the whole school, but Hermes is not an ordinary guy. He's my mate.
I decided to finish putting poster up later as I closed my locker and played with the bottom of my tank top under my half close flannel shirt as I walked towards him. I couldn't help but think he just smelled like chocolate chip cookies and mint.
He didn't see me coming and when I cleared my throat, his body tensed a little before he turned and looked at me. He half sighed, half groaned and looked back at his phone, “What do you want, Jaycee?”.
I opened my mouth and nothing came out. I don't know really how to start this, so I awkwardly said, “Your mom still making those cookies?”, I asked and he looked at me confused. My cheeks blushed up, “I mean, you know, every one a time a week, your mom would make home made cookies and you would share with me at lunch. It what made the milk gave us worth wild to drink.”.
He pursed his lips, “Strong sense of nose you must have.”, he said and he has no idea. I can smell them in in his bag inside his locker. “I'm not sharing this time, though.”.
I dropped my jaw and gave him a shock look, “Hermes! You always share with me, you know what always happened when you didn't.”, she amusingly said. Whenever he tried not share the six cookies he brought—it begin with just three, but she knows he asked his mom to pack six when she kept eating them—she would pinch him.
“You couldn't try if you wanted to.”, he said, grinning.
“Come on!”, she faked whined. “Your mom were always the best. They were always chewy, now give me one!”.
(Hermes)
I let the grin dropped off my face when I realized I was doing it and looked away from her smiling face. It was bright and happy, it just made her look so beautiful. I can't be around her, I shouldn't even be talking to her. The more I do, the more Lucinda might get in my head and find out about her. It would keep her safe. And even, Jaycee and me would never work. She's a—well, a werewolf for heaven sakes!
“You always did have a nice smile, Hermes.”, she said, my name coming out her voice sounded so beautiful. “Straight white pearly teeth.”.
I closed my locker, “I have to go—”
When I turned, she quickly grabbed my arm, “No, Hermes, wait. I don't understand, why don't you want me around? I'm the same girl you knew back then, your best friend.”.
I turned back around and took my arm out of her hand, “Your the girl you just made it hared for me.”, I said and her lower lip pouted, her eyes widen. She looked hurt and it just made her look like a puppy. “A girl fighting for a boy? How lame.”.
