At school, the girls sat in the drama room reading the script. "Start with the line about the stolen medal." Spencer demanded

Hanna looked at a student, confused. "Why isn't she wearing any shoes?"

"She's probably auditioning for the 8 year old. That's why she want to look short." Bella replied

"What's my line?" Spencer asked. Emily read the script. "I don't see anything about a medal."

"That's what the 8 year old killed her classmate for. The medal. That's why it's called the bad seed." Spencer explained, making Hanna chuckle

"Penmanship medal, really?"

"Didn't you read the whole play?" Spencer wondered, looking at Aria. "Don't look at me. Hanna's the one trying out. I'm just here to make her look taller."

"Bella, who are you auditioning for?" Spencer asked. Bella held up her script. "I wanna be the bad seeds mother. Hanna is already auditioning for the one who's drunk all the time."

Hanna smiled. "Still ragging on me for bringing a flask? I don't need another parent, Bel. One's planty."

"Well, has the one figured out that Caleb's in your basement?" Aria whispered. "No, but A has."

The others looked at her in shock. "What are you gonna do?" Emily wondered. "I'm gonna tell my mom before A gets to her. I'm just gonna ask her if Caleb can stay in the guest room." Hanna replied

Mona walked over to them. "Hey there, Hanna and her clan-na." Bella smiled. "Hey, Mona. How was your audition?"

"Honestly, I nailed it. It was epic. I think Mr. Fitz cried." She responded

"Good for you, Mona. I guess rhe rest of us should go home." Spencer told. "No. There are no small parts, only parts that don't make it into the yearbook." Mona said, walking away

Suddenly Trevor came. He smiled at the girls and they smiled back. "Trev? What are you doing here?" Spencer asked in confusion

He pointed at Bella. "I need to talk to you." Bella looked around before standing up. "Uh, okay."

She ignored the big smile on Spencer's face and followed him out of the audition room

"Are you okay?" She asked. He just nodded. "Of course I am. Why wouldn't I?"

Then Bella remembered that he had no idea that she knew about his dad locking him into the room

"Just wondering. So what do you wanna talk about?" She asked. "I'm so sorry for not talking to you yesterday. I- uh- had to help my sister Melissa. You know, she's getting a baby so as her brother I have to lift things for her and all."

She smiled and nodded. "Don't worry. We can do it another time, no need to apologise."

He smiled and she could swear he was blushing a bit. "Thank you, Bella."

She hesitated, but told him. "You know, if you ever need anyone to talk to, I'm always free."

He looked a bit confused but smiled at her. "Thank you. But the same goes to you. You can always talk to me about everything."

She gave him a small smile

Maybe she would take that offer very soon

After school, Bella walked past Toby's porch. He sat on it and stopped her. "Bella, wait." She turned around

"Yeah?"
