I haven't seen all of Season 5 yet and I'm just going to say from seeing 9 episodes that Mari still is obsessed with Adrien and Adrien likes Mari. Call it an Au, I'm not completely sure what this kinda out  fits so just call whatever you want. Thanks!
"You really think she'd be willing to go with me?" Adrien asked Nino as they walked into class. "Yeah, dude. I'm totally asking Alya, so maybe if Mari says yes we can all go together." Nino said. "And how do you know Alya's going to say yes?" Adrien asked. Nino laughed, but didn't answer. "Hey, Alya. Wanna go to that big ball thing with me?" Nino asked. "Sure, Nino." Alya said, agreeing to go with him. Marinette came tripping into the room. "Hey, Mari." Marinette looked up. "H-hey Adrien." She stuttered.
"So, uh, Mari, I know you've heard about the Miraculous Ball. And I was uhm wondering if you'd like to-" "Adrikins!!!!" Chloe yelled, distracting Adrien. Marinette still looked at Adrien questioningly with her bluebell eyes. "Just a minute." Chloe tapped her foot. "Do you want to go to the ball with me?" Adrien whispered. "Uh sure." Mari said, blushing like a tomato. Alya was fangirling, Nino was attempting to calm her down, and Chloe was getting impatient. "I can't wait forever, Adrikins!" She yelled, really mad. "Fine Chloe." Adrien winked at Marinette before jogging away. It had seemed impossible for Marinette to be redder, but here she was, blushing even more. She weakly waved.
"Adrikins we should go to that Miraculous Ball together!" Chloe said. Adrien frowned. "Sorry Chloe. I'm already going with someone." Adrien informed her. "Who?" Chloe asked. "She'll tell you if she wants." Adrien told her, and then walked over to his seat behind Nino.

Later that day...
AKUMA ALERT
"Gotta go Nino. See you." Adrien left to go transform. Marinette just left. "Hey, kitty." Ladybug said, as she searched for the akuma. "Hello Ladybug." Chat Noir said calmly. "Wait, that's it?" Ladybug looked at Chat with awe. Chat only looked at her in confusion. "That's all?" He asked. "No cat puns, no flirty jokes? Just 'Hello Ladybug'?" Chat could have slapped himself. "I know you don't like them." He said calm yet again. "I guess I must make up for them. Good meow-ring." Ladybug teased. "That's not necessary." Chat told her, even though he knew she was trying to make him laugh with jokes that didn't even compare to his amazing jokes. "Okay, okay. Is something wrong? You seem off." Ladybug asked. Chat smiled as he thought of Marinette. "I'm fine, really. If anything, I'm happier than ever. I know I shouldn't be revealing things about my identity, but I asked this wonderful girl out to a dance and she said yes! " Chat told her. Ladybug chuckled. Well then it's fine to tell you that the boy I like asked me out to a dance too! Funny coincidence. " Ladybug said, not making the connection, but neither did Chat Noir. 

"Nice little chat. But that's over." The akuma, queen wasp said. The duo quickly defeated her. "I've got to run. Bug out. " Ladybug swung away and Adrien and Mari met up at the same spot as earlier. They parted, Alya going with Mari to the clothes store, and Nino and Adrien off to find something suitable to wear. 

It's not very long, but upcoming chapters will be longer, I promise.
