When I saw Fitz beating up Sophie Foster, his ex, I knew that my best friend had gone too far. I had heard a scream, so I came running as fast as I could. I got there just as she blacked out.

When I pulled Fitz off of Sophie, there had been rage in his eyes. So much rage. I dragged him away, him hitting at me and screaming profanities at the top of his lungs. It took all of my strength to not let him twist free. I shoved him in the abandoned janitor's closet I would sometimes use to store pranks, and locked the door with the key I had stolen from the main office.

It probably wasn't the best idea, but I had to make sure Sophie was okay. I ran back to her to find her face beaten and bloodied, bruises already forming everywhere he had hit her. She had done nothing to fight back.

Just as I was about to pick her up and carry her to the hospital wing, Principle Alina walked down the hall. She stopped when she noticed me standing over Sophie's unconscious body. "What happened?" she asked, sharply and severely. She, of course, thought it had been me who had beaten her up. She would never in a million years accuse Fitz.

"I was walking to class when I heard screaming. I ran down the hall to see what was going on, and Fitz was here. He beat up Sophie until she blacked out. He would have done worse, but I locked him in a closet," I answered, as honestly as possible.

Principle Alina sighed. "Of course you did. So tell me, why do you happen to have a key to a closet in this school?" She knew exactly why, but she wanted to hear it from me. "I was in the office and I saw it on a desk. I took it because... Well," I flashed a smile, "how else am I supposed to store and keep track of all of my genius pranks?"

The annoyed principal rolled her eyes.

"Bring the girl, and take me to Fitz," she ordered, sternly. I bent down and carefully picked up Sophie. She was still unconscious. I silently hoped that she was okay. "Follow me," I said, already walking down the hallway.

When we reached the closet, Fitz was still hitting it with all of his might, trying to escape. I pulled the key out of my pocket and handed it to Principle Alina. She slid it into the lock and carefully turned it. She opened the door and Fitz fell out.

It was sort of hilarious to watch how he clamped his mouth shut and his eyes widened when he saw who was standing over him. He immediately stopped thrashing. "You," said Principle Alina, "My office. Now." Fitz nodded and walked swiftly down the hall. Principle Alina was so mad that she didn't even realize when she dropped the key to the closet back into my hand.

Right before marching away, she told me to take Sophie to the hospital wing and tell Elwin everything. I nodded and watched her take off after Fitz, who I definitely wouldn't be friends with anymore. It was worth it, though. I had never known him to be a violent person, but I guess that was just because nobody really ever made him mad.

Now, here I was, a day later, walking into the hospital wing again, watching as Sophie tugged absentmindedly at her eyelashes, which was kind of adorable in a way- Wait! No! Bad Keefe! Don't think stuff like that! She's your friend!

But anyways, I walked into the room, and she noticed me. Her eyes went wide...
