The sky was a dark blue, emitting enough light for the people outside to see the figures of those in the distance, but not enough to see them clearly.

Felix currently had his head in Hyunjin's lap, as the two were perched on a patch of tall grass amidst an overgrown field.

"I could stay like this forever." Felix smiled, looking up at the brunette who gave him butterflies every damn time he kissed him.

"Me too." Hyunjin grinned back, running a slender hand through the younger's bleached locks.

Hyunjin would never grow bored at looking at his love, and Felix could watch the elder draw circles on his arm for decades.

Eventually, though, the two rose from their spot as the sun finally waved its final goodbye, crossing the field with fingers interlocked as their arms swung gently. Before nearing the edge, Hyunjin took his boyfriend's cheek in the palm of his hand, and placed a gentle kiss on his soft lips. Felix happily returned the kiss, hands gripping the taller's sides as if he would be pulled from him at any moment.

"See you tomorrow." The nineteen year old smiled, the two heading their separate ways to their respected houses. Neither of which felt like home.

When Hyunjin entered the house, he slid his shoes off silently, walking through the hallway with light footsteps before being met by his father at the end of the staircase.

"You're home late." The man commented, Hyunjin stopping in his tracks to do another painful dance around the topic with his father.

"It just got dark." Hyunjin countered, the smallest glimpse of blue still visible at the base of the skyline.

"It's almost eleven." His father raised an eyebrow, glimpsing at the watch on his wrist. It was an old watch, one that he had adorned for as long as the boy could remember.

"That's the beauty of summer - the sun goes down late." Hyunjin replied.

"Were you with that boy?" His father's lips fell shut after the final word, as if he wanted to say more, but refrained from doing so.

"You mean Felix? Yes." Hyunjin replied. His father had never managed to call him by his name - always referring to him as 'that boy', or 'that kid'.

"You spend too much time with him, I don't want his habits rubbing off on you." The man frowned, eyes falling to the floor.

"He's a good person, a nice person. He doesn't have any bad habits. He doesn't even drink." Hyunjin countered, staring at his father with force.

"There are rumours that he's, uh.. lays with men." The man said the last part with distaste, eyes meeting his son's once more.

"He's not gay." Hyunjin frowned, hating himself for lying, but knowing that with his family, that was the only way he could make it okay for him to continue seeing the younger.

"Well, people talk, and I don't want them talking about you." His father was speaking as if the possibility of a rumour of his son being gay would be the end of the world, which unfortunately in this close-minded town, wasn't too far from correct.

"No one will talk." Hyunjin said briefly, jogging up the stairs to go to his room.

I was biting my tongue

He engulfed himself in the covers, wanting nothing more than to just lay with his boyfriend. He wished the circumstances were different, that his family were accepting and didn't care. He had come to realise that that just wasn't his reality, and it never would be.

I was trying to hide

Felix stepped through the door of his own home, throwing his shoes off and walking into the kitchen. His mother, and her boyfriend, were playing some card game.
