chapter 1: in infernis arderet

this chapter does contain a mention of bl^^d so when that part comes it will be marked with a bold asterisk ( looks like this * ) everyone who may be triggered may skip through this part until a second asterisk appears meaning it is safe. i also put some of my head canons in here :3

" they went this way, after them!"

you quickly looked behind you as soon as you heard this to see two moonshadow elf assassins tailing you with their swords drawn. you bolted down the corridor and turned into an empty room filled with random junk hoping you could hide out in there until the assassins moved on. however as you stepped inside, you noticed something.

y/n: (panicked) "aw crud where is it where is it!"

you had searched everywhere you thought to search but you didn't find your spear. you must have accidentally dropped it when you were hightailing it away from all of the commotion. after a few minutes had passed you decided to go out into the hallway while holding on to a spear you pulled off of an armor piece.

you could still hear all of the fighting around the castle even though you weren't near a single living soul that you knew of. slowly but surely, you made your way around trying to find a safe way out

soon after that you felt the cold steel of xadian moonshadow elf blades pressed against your neck. you tried to struggle your way out of it and attack using the spear, but the elf had twisted your arm in a way that forced you to drop it if you wanted to avoid a broken arm. you saw a second assassin come up from behind to hold you down

???: (spitefully) "so this is what the human kingdoms call royalty. how pathetic, i can't believe i'm bound to kill you."

y/n: "pathetic royal sure beats vengeful assassin doesn't it?"

the elf then proceeded to hit you with the hilt of his blades. the distinct taste of iron flooded your mouth and sure enough, when you wiped off your lips you hands had become stained with blood.

???: "if you're smart you'd bite your tongue and make this process easier on yourself."

??? (2): " you humans think you're all high and mighty but when it comes down to it you're all cowards."

you took a minute to look at your surroundings, searching for any opportunity to escape. you were so caught up in this that you didn't even realize you had tuned out what the assassins were saying to you.

???: "hey are you even listening?"

y/n: "honestly no. whats with your friend here anyways? what kind of an assassin are you if you need help getting the job done?"

???: " i said bite your tongue!"

the elf had then proceeded to kick you in the stomach hard enough to send you rolling into the wall. you clenched the area where you kicked as you proceeded to cough up blood from the sheer impact with the wall.
