TRIGGER WARNINGS - MENTION OF CORPSE & MISSING PEOPLE, PASSING OUT.
Adam parked his car and walked up to the store. He had gotten a message from Mervin about the reopening of Ramona's. He had to admit, he missed working there. Ever since his fathers disappearance, nothing has been going his way. He stood in front of the store and read the message displayed on the door.
"Welcome back to Ramona's Ribs! We're looking forward to having all of our amazing staff members back! We apologize for any inconvenience. A bit of trouble resurfaced about our restaurant, so we had to move. We're still across many locations in Kansas, do not worry!"
Just as Adam was about to unlock the door, his coworker Moony pulled up right next to him.
MOONY - "Is it locked?"
ADAM - "Haven't checked."
Adam grabbed the doorknob, but it wouldn't budge.
ADAM - "Guess so."
MOONY - "Didn't Mervin say it was going to be unlocked?"
ADAM - "Yup. Maybe he mistyped."
MOONY - "Maybe..."
Adam and Moony talked for a bit until a brown car pulled up in the parking lot. A frustrated Mervin could be seen fetching the keys in his bag. He looked like he had been drinking. His brown hair was a mess, along with his business attire that seemed to be stained.
MERVIN - "Sorry guys, I nearly forgot about this."
Adam looked completely dumbfounded. He shared a look with Moony who also seemed confused.
ADAM - "No worries."
Mervin unlocked the door and the three of them walked in. Both of the workers immediately recognized the new layout. All four of the animatronics were gone. Mervin seemed to take notice of the mutual confusion and spoke up.
MERVIN - "We had to remove the robots due to some irregular activities. Apparently, they just freaked the kids the fuck out and even some random mom threatened to sue because Sammy "looked at her kid wrong". As if they could even make direct eye contact, it's a fucking robot!"
Adam's eyes widened a bit at the language coming from the man.
MERVIN - "My apologies. I'm just - really stressed right now."
ADAM - "No it's fine! I was just a little caught off guard, that's all."
MERVIN - "You two can go off and work on whatever you see, I'm going to go get some stuff done in my office."
Mervin started to walk towards his office but stops when Moony gets his attention.
MOONY - "Are we having customers today?"
MERVIN - "We open again next week."
MOONY - "I'll just work on the stage then."
Mervin flashed Moony a thumbs up before walking to his office.
Moony turns to Adam.
MOONY - "Where are you gonna work in? Weren't you the animatronic person?"
ADAM - "I was the person who looked after the broken animatronics, Alex is who you're thinking of."
MOONY - "I thought Alex went missing?"
Adam was immediately taken back by this.
ADAM - "Huh?!"
MOONY - "Yeah, it was all over the news. I think there might even be a copy of her missing poster somewhere in my bag."
