Welcome to chapter three! I hope you enjoy this chapter, and please feel free to leave your thoughts on it here.
Feedback on this chapter in particular would be very appreciated. This chapter is more of a turning point in the story, so I'd really like to know what you'd personally like to see going forward with the plot points that have been introduced.

She hadn't been around as often lately. And the shows he enjoyed had been far shorter. Work. She'd been working a lot more often as of late. Her boss always had her stay later to help him, and with each passing day, the overtime seemed to be more and more. Some days she'd fall into bed and go to sleep, completely denying him of his private show, the private show he could hardly go long without.

That didn't matter today though. It was summer now and it was finally warm enough for them to start those swimming lessons. His father had gotten the pool ready a few days before when Slade admitted that he wanted to bring a girl over and help her learn to swim.
The sun was shining bright and he had his sunglasses on. He hated the bright sun, but hey, that sun was the reason he was getting to spend time with his Kitten that day, so he wasn't gonna complain.

His gaze, which had been on a stray cat running around, turned when he heard the creak of a door opening. And out stepped his Kitten, dark eyes shielded by heart-shaped sunglasses, a black dress adorning her body. He couldn't help but wonder if those hearts were for him, he hoped they were at least.
Upon catching sight of him, the short woman hurried down the steps of her porch and waved, exclaiming "Sladey~" happily as she headed over to him. Almost as if it had become a reflex, he connected their arms together, nearly making the much shorter girl trip over her own feet only for her to start giggling and balance herself.
"Excited to see me?" She asked as her head gently rubbed against his arm as she turned her gaze to look up at him.

"Very. Got everything you need?" He asked as he began to lead her to his car. The girl momentarily stopped, causing Slade to stop rather quickly so as not to drag her as she began to look through the bag she had brought with her to carry along her belongings. She soon nodded to herself and murmured a little "Yep" before she looked up at him, nodded once again, and smiled.
"Uh-huh, I got everything."

Slade reciprocated the nod before he disconnected their arms and leaned down, opening up the passenger side door for her. She promptly climbed into the car and buckled herself up. Slade couldn't help but smile at this. He was glad she was being safe. He'd hate it if she didn't and ended up getting hurt. He couldn't lose her.
He quickly hurried around the front of the car and to the side, opening up the driver's side door before he hunched down and got into the car, inserting the keys into the ignition and starting up the car.

"You know, you're quite the gentleman." The girl spoke after a moment as she examined her long hair in the mirror before she adjusted it and looked towards the man who had just turned onto the role.
"Oh, you don't mind if I put my CD in, do you?" She added in questioning as she began to trifle through her bag for her CD.

"How so?" Slade asked as he kept his eyes on the road.
"And no, I don't mind, go ahead."

Kiku plucked in her CD at this, this being an Ice Nine Kills CD, before she put the case back in her bag.
"Well, you're always pulling out my chair for me, opening doors for me, holding my hand, stuff like that. It's really sweet. Reminds me of someone else I know."

"Well, my dad taught me all that, so it's nothing special really." He replied with a very light shrug, though he soon narrowed his eyes at the road.
"Say, you said it reminds you of someone else you know. Might I ask who that is?"
