Chapter 3 | Bully

One week had passed and thankfully I haven't been discovered by the prince who Justine said that he was looking for. I hope he doesn't discover it, it'll be annoying. Also, we haven't met in the corridor or at the cafeteria, or even where I am. It was a blessing in disguise that he was in 3rd grade and I'm in first grade.

However, even though the prince doesn't know me, some of his fans know. Today, when I opened my locker, I saw a rotten apple inside of it. It was questionable on my part how'd they put it inside even though I check the lock of my locker and it was properly sealed. They might have some kind of magic.

I grab a scratch paper from my bag, slid it under the rotten apple, and warp it. I close my locker walk to the nearest trash bin and threw it there. Having obsessive fans is scary, I thought as I was eyeing the poor apple. I hope they won't poison me next using the apple like Snow White.

Walking in the corridor to my first class gave me fear as I had imagined something that I think would happen to me. It was the feeling of being bullied. The thought of someone that would throw an egg on me, or even a pail of fish sauce on my head, or tear my notebooks and books that are expensive. But thankfully in this school students bully in a very extravagant way. So far the only thing they did to me is the apple in my locker, a nice calligraphy on my table of 'fuck of bitch' while using lipstick, and giving me death threats which they would not do.

They are mostly afraid of them being busted with their prince for having that kind of attitude. That is what I thought.

Well, this disrupts my peaceful life a little but it is tolerable unlike Justine over here who was throwing a tantrum while I was cleaning my table using a tissue.

"What the heck?! Who are these people who had a grudge against you Danny?!"I continued cleaning my table, ignoring Justine. Some of the students are looking at us but they did not meddle with our problem.

"You're very lovely and cute! How can these people hate you?!" He look at me annoyed for not answering him. He stood up and grab the tissue from me and harshly wipe the poor table. "It won't erase if you clean it like that, look how gentle you are! I'll kick their ass if I know who they are!"

"Calm down. It's not even a big deal--"

"No, shush, shut up. You're just an angel. I will take care of the curse words and killings" I give up. I'm utterly speechless with this guy. He's kind of a different species of human. The weird kind.

I just thank him for his weirdness and he smiled at me proudly. Like dude, I'm more evil than you.

History class was boring. I almost sleep in the class. But of course, I did not. It would be disrespectful. I listened to Mr. Evans talking about how different people are from before, they are well-mannered and more trained with proper etiquette, and today's generation is just so much of a change.

But I don't know. The things Mr. Evans says, well most are right, however, people are humans. Humans do evil, it might be that today's generation is more transparent and it became a norm than the previous which is well hidden for perfecting their good facade.

After discussing it for about 30 minutes. Mr. Evans handed us papers. "I will have a test about what I am discussing today. This is just a 10-item test and it's easy. It is to determine if you understand the topic"

A lot of students grumbled when they heard Mr. Evan's words. Even, I did not expect him to hand us those papers and give us much more headache than what we had earlier.

Because we don't have a choice. We accepted the paper and answered it with all our might. Thankfully that I know some of the questions where I sometimes listen and give comments in my head. After a couple of minutes, we pass the test paper not sure of our answers.

The next class is vacant, however, Justine had a class which made me happy a little. It's surprising for me that I sometimes like his company. But he's still loud.

Because it is vacant, I gave myself a peaceful environment and the library is the most decent one. I go inside the library and scan for interesting books that they have. I go to the section that is labeled 'Novels'. There are a few of them there because students might be distracted by their studies but the stories put are worth reading.

I grab a random book with a title, Those Above by Daniel Polansky, reading the synopsis it looks like there was a war going on. I am not a fan of war but I think I can try reading this.

"That's a nice book" A girl in a ponytail approached me peaking at the book I was holding. I did not mind her talking to me because I think we have the same interests. "I'm Ana," he said not smiling, not serious, just indifferent.

"Daniel" I also introduced myself in the same as her vibes. Oh well, I think we are the same in that area. "Did you already read this?" Thus I ask about that matter.

"Yeah," she replied without saying another thing. I hummed at her answer as an encouragement that I understand.

"Any recommendation?" She asked while eyeing the books on the bookshelf. She grabs one book and read the synopsis.

"What genre do you like?" She put back the book she grabs and scans her eyes back on the books.

I saw her shrug "I don't know. Random things that I can say that will interest me?"

I don't know about that. It is difficult to recommend to someone who doesn't even know what they think they like. But it seems interesting knowing that her imagination is wider than it seems. She grab a book which she eyed for a while which made me curious.

"What book is that?" She let me see the title of the book which is 'They Both Die at The End by Adam Silvera'.

"That kind of a spoiler" I commented while she flipped the book and let me read the synopsis. It was quite interesting which made me ask her if she could lend it to me after she read it and she agreed.

Ana gave me her number and so do I. We walk to one of the closest tables in this section and sat there in silence while reading the book we chose.
