The Apology

Michael heard a knocking at his door.

"Michael... it's me. Come on open up. Looks I'm sorry. Mum explained it to me and I didn't realise. I didn't mean to make fun of you."

Michael ignored her at first but after 10 minutes she was still outside so he finally caved and let her in.

"What", he said gruffly to Chloe who was waiting outside the door.

"Look Michael I'm sorry about what I said back there. I thought you'd just been forced into a dress or something for a laugh I didn't realise what it was all about."

"What do you mean?"

"Mum explained to me about the dresses and the shoes, and the underwear..."

"Oh my god. I could kill her right now. How embarrassing". Michael's face turned red. It was bad enough his mum knowing that he was wearing women's underwear, but his sister too?

"No no honestly don't be embarrassed. I think it's cool. Really I do. I love you no matter what you're my brother for gods sake. Or sister. Sorry, I'm not quite sure what to say."

Chloe seemed genuinely worried that she may have upset Michael, and he could see that.

"Look it's fine, I know you didn't mean to be horrible. It's confusing for me right now so I just want to figure stuff out. Okay?"

"Yes, yes absolutely. We don't have to talk about it anymore. But I'm always here if you need me. I'm sure there are some things you feel more comfortable talking to me about than mum." Chloe hugged Michael then went back to her room.

All things considered, that didn't go too badly. Michael was still mortified, but it was lessening by the second. 

Now that everything was out in the open, he supposed he should try and figure out what the hell was going on.
