"The main character kind of reminds me of you." Yuri commented, kind of out of nowhere.

Slightly startled, Natsuki looked up at her. "Really?" She decided to take it as a compliment, seeing as that character happened to be one of her favorites.

"Yeah, your mannerisms kind of remind me of her." Yuri added with a small grin. Natsuki grinned back, though she wondered what they meant.

They had been the first ones to arrive to the Literature Club that day, so Natsuki had taken the opportunity to ask Yuri to read a manga with her. And to her delight, Yuri had agreed. They had spent the past half hour just sitting in the corner of the room reading together, pressed close to one another partially just because it was easier to see the book that way but also because Natsuki liked being close to Yuri.

In the past few months, Yuri and Natsuki had grown quite close. Even though they had started off on the wrong track, Natsuki found that Yuri was the best friend she'd ever had. For one, Nat was happy that she'd taken the time to get to know Yuri for who they really were. She admired her quite a lot, actually.

Not that she'd ever tell them that, though.

Yuri's violet eyes were glued to the manga, their eyes taking in everything the page had to offer. Natsuki looked up at her, noting just how close they were to one another; their shoulders were touching, and Natsuki could almost feel the rush of breath as they exhaled through their nose.

With the afternoon sun shining through the window and making Yuri's hair glow with an amber sheen, Natsuki thought that she was beautiful. Yuri spared a glance in Natsuki's direction, and she realized that she'd been staring, promptly returning her gaze to the manga.

"Okay, everyone!" Monika's voice rung out in the room, and Natsuki jolted. It had been so quiet, she'd barely noticed that Monika and Sayori had eventually arrived. She swapped a glance with her dark haired friend. Natsuki closed her manga, and stood, returning it to its place in the closet.

As the two made their way up to the front of the room, Yuri slid up to Natsuki and leaned down a bit; "By the way.. Um," She hesitated for a slight moment as Nat glanced up at her, her violet eyes darting to the side.

"What's up?"

"Are you doing anything this weekend?" Their eyes met.

"I don't think so. Why?"

"Well.. I was wondering if uh, you'd want to come over this weekend?" Yuri asked, twirling a lock of her hair between her fingers.

"YES!" Natsuki responded, a little too quickly, and felt her face flush. "Uh- I-I mean, yeah, sure, why not."

Yuri giggled, and Natsuki couldn't help but smile.

"Okay then. Is Saturday good?"

"Yeah!"

"Alright, I'll see you then." Yuri gave Nat another grin, and headed up to join Monika and Sayori.

Natsuki lingered behind, just for a moment, wondering what the thrumming of her heartbeat meant.
