"Dad, we are going to be late!" Parker hollered from upstairs. Nathan was still sleeping on the couch.
"Parker, he's still asleep. I'll take you." Sophie was in the bedroom and didn't know if Parker heard her. Sophie walked out of the bedroom and into the living room where Nathan was.
"Nate, Parker is calling you," Sophie whispered to Nathan to wake him up. He still didn't wake up, so she left the room to get the car started to take Parker and the boys to school.
"Parker, grab your brothers please," Sophie called.
"Ok, where are they?" Parker asked.
"In their room probably," Sophie replied. Parker ran off to find her brothers. Sophie went back to see if Nathan was awake yet. To her surprise, he was. He had gotten up and gone to the study as always.
"Make sure that's coffee." Sophie hollered to Nathan. He brushed her off and made himself drink. Eliot, Hardison, and Parker were all ready for school.
...
When they arrived at the school, Parker went to class. Hardison headed over to a group of friends but started to get picked on by Collin, a kid everyone called Chaos. Eliot knew he needed to stand up for his brother, so he called out,
"Hey, Chaos! Your shirts on backward!" Hardison knew it was his chance to get away and took off. As Eliot was heading off to his first period, Quinn came out of nowhere and punched Eliot so hard that he fell against a locker. As Eliot was getting up, Quinn yelled right in his face.
"Your siblings are idiots and freaks!" Eliot had had enough of Quinn picking on his siblings, so he punched Quinn in the gut. Quinn was on the ground in a ball when
Mr. Dubenich came over and stopped the fight. He sent Eliot to the front office and Quinn to the nurse's office. Eliot was sitting in the lobby waiting to be called into the office when he saw his dad pacing back and forth in the hall. Eliot heard Mr. Sterling's voice to come into his office. Right when Eliot sat down, Mr. Sterling asked
"Eliot, why, oh why, did you punch Quinn?" Eliot answered with a grunt.
"If you don't tell me why they have a good week in detention. "Mr. Sterling said sarcastically. Mr. Sterling saw the look on Eliot's face.
"Fine! Quinn was calling my siblings idiots and freaks. He's been doing it since Hardison was adopted 14 years ago and I had enough of it." Eliot responded.
"Ok, then." Mr. Sterling grabbed the microphone to make an announcement,
"Quinn to the front office!"
...
The siblings met at the water fountain by the cafeteria before lunch every day. As Parker headed to meet her brothers, she walked past Mr. Archie, her math teacher, and lifted his wallet. She walked away snickering. Hardison was already there waiting for Parker and Eliot.
"Hey! Where's Eliot? He is usually the first one here." Parker asked
"I don't know." Hardison shrugged. "He might be in the office for hitting Quinn."
"Pfft! Eliot would never do that." Parker said sarcastically. A loud screech came over the PA.
"QUINN TO THE FRONT OFFICE!"

...

Ring! Ring! Nathan fumbled with his phone before he answered.
"Hi, Mr. Ford? Your son is in the office, and Mr. Sterling would like you to come to the school." Before the receptionist could say anything else, Nathan got up and got into the car. Nathan started the car and left the driveway when he got a text.
"Where are you going?" Nathan looked at the text and ignored it. After a fifteen-minute drive, Nathan arrived at the school. While he was getting out of the car he replied to the text.
"At school. One of the boys got in trouble."
"Ok, which one?" Sophie responded as Nathan closed the car door.
"Don't know. I'll call after." Nathan walked into the school and knew exactly where to go. He had been called up to the school so many times he probably knew his way around the school better than most parents. He walked down the maze of hallways where he paced back and forth waiting to talk to Mr. Sterling. Several minutes passed when he saw Eliot push open the office door.
"I should have known it would be you," Nathan said harshly.
"What is that supposed to mean?" Eliot asked with a puzzled look.
"Every time I get called up here, it's because of you or Parker, never Alec."
"It's "Hardison"." Eliot said, "And it wasn't my fault."
"It wasn't your fault, huh?" Nathan said frustratedly. Eliot didn't want to respond to his dad. He would rather talk to his mom. After Eliot didn't answer Nathan, he was full of frustration and anger. Nathan started heading for Mr. Sterling's door when Eliot said,
"Fine! I'll tell you and mom when we get home." Nathan looked at him and started to calm down.
"Ok." Nathan said, "Go get your brother and sister, and let's go." Eliot started to go get his siblings when a thought crossed his mind. "Mom is going to be so mad." After waiting for a little while Eliot came back with Parker and Hardison.
"Let's go," Nathan said right when they were in earshot. The three teens got into the car. Nathan at the driver's seat, Eliot on his right, and Parker and Hardison behind them. No one had said a word until Eliot let out a yelp.
"Dang it, Hardison! That hurt." Eliot's face was red with anger. Hardison had the biggest and goofiest smile on his face. After several more minutes of silence, Nathan's phone rang.
"Hey, hon," Nathan answered with a weird tone.
"Hi. I just wanted to let you know before you get home that Maggie is over," Sophie says cheerfully.
"W-what, w-why is she there?" Nathan asked.
"I invited her over, but she'll be gone before you're even home."
"Ok, we will be home in five minutes," Nathan said
"Love you," Nathan said as he heard Maggie and Sophie laughing as he hung up
