I tapped my feet against the dirt road, pacing back and forth, waiting for the arrival of my bride to be, Isabelle. I was standing in the courtyard to her home and getting impatient, we were supposed to leave for the masquerade.

She was always late, I couldn't recall a single event that we ever intended that we hadn't come to before dark. The sun had settled and the air was getting slightly colder. I could see the far off lights of the masquerade from where I stood.

A throat cleared from behind me.

"So, do you think we could get going now?" I asked turning around.

There she stood, her dark brown hair flowing down her long black and brown dress. The top park of her hair was pulled back into a bun and the rest hung down to her waist, her hair had to be the longest I'd ever seen on anyone I'd ever met.

I smiled. "If your ready."

"I've been ready for ever." I said taking her hand as we started walking through the streets.

"What takes you so long anyways?" I asked as we turned the first corner.

She shrugged. "I woman has to look her best."

I shrugged it off and kept walking. We pasted a few shops and I felt a tug on my arm. I turned around to find Isabelle looking into the window of one.

Her face was pressed into the glass and her breath showing on the glass through the cold air. I walked up to her and looked at the window. Through it, laid a silver chain link necklace with a matching butterfly locket.

"Its very beautiful." I said smiling.

"It would go perfect with my wedding dress." She breathed.

I could tell she really wanted it, I always could and I always managed to get it for her, when ever she wanted it.

"I'll get it for you tomorrow when the store is open." I said taking her hand in mine.

She pulled away. "But I don't think I can leave it here, what if someone buys it before then." She ended in a sigh.I looked from her to the necklace in deep thought. I finally came to a decision, I pulled her back and punched through the glass.
