two minus one [seventeen mingyu]

they both couldn't believe their own eyes. the way they bumped into each other felt like a dream. and if it was, neither of them didn't want to wake up.

mingyu broke the silence to initiate a conversation, to which y/n kindly responded to. they were still in the same area where y/n fell, and she's talking to the same guy she has fallen for.

"you have done magnificent work, y/n, and i'm so proud of you." mingyu said, looking at y/n in awe. "how have you been?"

"i've been okay." have been missing you, "how about you? your group has been getting big lately, aren't you busy?"

"we're on a break right now, i've also been okay."

"that's good to know."

"hey, y/n?"

"yeah?"

"are you... seeing someone? if you don't mind me asking." mingyu said, "you don't have to answer me if it's an uncomfortable question."

"oh, no. it's alright. no, i'm not seeing anyone." y/n replied,

"single?"

"yes"

"okay. if, uh, yeah. i'm not seeing anyone either." mingyu said, "not that we're not allowed, i mean, we were. but, you know? it has been years and, yeah, i guess it's okay now?"

y/n chuckled, "yeah, i get it."

"okay, cool."

"cool"

"may i?" mingyu held out a hand, offering for y/n to hold it. and her heart started beating fast, she was afraid if she stepped any closer to mingyu– he'd be able to hear it.

y/n took his hand, nontheless, and there her heart started to beat faster than it already was. it felt like she couldn't breathe but finally breathe, her body was tingling in delight, and she felt like she might fall any second.

mingyu felt ecstatic, nervous, all over the place. his legs felt weak, she's finally close to him, and he wanted to hug and ask her to be his.

"if i asked her now, would it be too fast?" he thought,

"if i let him know i want him, would it be too fast?" she thought,

both of them mentioned each one's name simultaneously, staring into each other's eyes.

"mingyu, i–"

"y/n, please–"
