"Hey, for once you haven't moved a way." I had said, staring at her, letting out a smile. Janelle rolled her eyes and threw my arm off her shoulder, walking away quickly.

I watched her fit skinny, small body walk off hastily. She didn't bother to look back, and I could definitely tell she wasn't the happiest. What was up with her? I saw Niall talking to her, but he looked even more confused after Janelle left.

"Well," Liam started, "We better head off now. Don't we want to get to the beach on time?"

Some of the group said yeah, while I just nodded and took my suitcase, heading to the car. My eyes focused unto Janelle. Her head was leaning against the window as she sang along to one of the songs that she had playing in her ear buds. Clearly not wanting to have a discussion with me while we're going to be driving.

I open the back door and place the baggage onto the seat, jogging to the other side to start the car. Man, was America a strange country. The drivers wheel was on an awkward part of the vehicle.

I start the engine, "Do you want me to drive? Since I'm actually from this state." Janelle teases.

"Ha Ha, you're funny, Miss Garretson. But, I have gotten my driver's license, so thanks for the offer, but I'm fine." I announce.

She lets out a smirk and rolls her eyes, placing the ear bud back in.

I would say the car ride was quite awkward. After Janelle's iPod had died, and she no longer had anything else to do to ignore me throughout the long trip, the air inside the vehicle was filled with small and utter chatter. I'd usually make her laugh and we would be telling each other dreadful stories. But ever since I came back from the world tour, Jan had just been avoiding me. Every time I'd ask her if she wanted to go and hangout, grab a coffee, she'd blow me off with some ridiculous excuse. I would play along but when Janelle tells a lie, she starts playing with her gentle fingers and is hesitent to look me in the eyes.

To my vision came a rest area sign, I decide to pull over to the exit and take a break, at least try to start a conversation  with the girl that was my best friend, but also the person I had feelings for.

"What are you doing?" Janelle asks, seeming panicked a bit.

"Just pulling over so we could take a break. It's a nice day and I'm getting kind of cramped in here."

The area had a little field and tables spread across it, certain people walked around, so with that I was a bit hesitant. I didn't want to be asked for autographs on a day off, but I took my chances.

I park the car, and Janelle is first out slamming the car door behind her.

I sighed, She really doesn't want to spend time with me anymore.

I slowly climbed out of the car, putting on my sunglasses. "I'll be over here." I call out to Janelle as she heads for the girls toilet. She brushes her hand in re-asurrement and I walk to a table and sit atop of it. I look at the sky as hot air blows through my hair. It felt nice but I sometimes hated the heat waves coming through this state.

"So." I hear Janelle say as she sits next to me, but keeping her distance.

"So." I reply with the same simple word. Just to hear her voice made my heart smile, but I wondered if she ever felt the same for me?

I understand that we're best friends, but can our feelings grow for each other? A little more than just being a friends? I also knew that relationships can ruin friendships, but I was willing to take a chance. My heart fell for her the first time I saw her at a signing here in America. Though that was

two years ago, it still hasn't changed.

"What do you think we're going to do at the beach for a whole two weeks?" Janelle asked, interrupting my thoughts.

"Well, obviously surf, have bond fires... I don't know. You're the Californian!" I exclaim, nudging her shoulder with mine. She let out a shy smile, "That's true."

I bravely put my arm over hers. Pulling her in, but she seemed to tense a little like when we were back at her house.

"Harry." Janelle said quietly, "Let go, please."

"What are you, scared of me?" I poke her stomach, trying to let out a little giggle out of her.

But instead she pulls away even more, "Harry! Stop. Don't get any closer to me, alright?" Janelle insisted. She hastily turned her figure around and stormed into the car without another word.

I furrowed my eyebrows, still not understanding why she's so edgy.
