---No one's pov---

The next day, Lilac was in front of the huge royal palace. It was 8 in the morning, and the temperature was really hot, as always.

That night, instead of sleeping, he planned everything. He knew exactly what to do. He knocked at the palace's doors two times, and he had to wait a while before they answerd. Has expected, the weren't really happy to see someone at that early time in the morning, instead, their voice sounded annoyed.

"WHO IS IT NOW? WHAT REQUIRES SUCH ATTENTION AT THIS TIME? WHO ARE YOU?"

"I'm not here for anything special, I just want to ask if it's possible to become one of the prince's body guards. But I suppose this is not the right tim-"

"WAIT!" The palace's guard suddenly said, interrupring what Lilac was saying. "If you are here for that, then the time doesn't matter. The prince has been stuck in the castle for many days now. Because of the fact that he doesn't have a bodyguard, his majesty won't let him go around by himself, and the prince loves going around collecting treasures, and not being able to go out is a disgrace for him. If you are really here for that, then I can let you in. I'll get you to his majesty."

"As expected." Lilac thought. Every single thing that guard just said was planned by him the previous night. Everything was under perfect control, has always. He had to go chill on this one, or else, he would end up in crumbs.

As the guard accompanied him through the corridors of the palace, Lilac realized that it was much bigger inside than it looked from the outside. The ceiling was very high, it almost seemed to touch the sky. The marble walls were thick, and he saw almost no windows on the way to the room where the sultan was.

He paced up and down the large room, as if he was waiting for something or someone. Lilac noticed that his hair color was slightly darker than his son's. When the guard opened the door, he looked at them with the confused face of someone telling: "And who is this now?". He aproached the guard quickly.

"Why..DID YOU BRING A STRANGER IN THE PALACE?! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?!" He screamed loudly. Everyone could have told that he was really nervous. Too bad, the guard was kinda sensitive. He was used to his majesty's anger issues.

"S-sir, please don't get mad. This young cookie here uhm, what was your name again? Oh, forget it. I was saying, this cookie here wants to become the prince's bodyguard. I thought it was a good idea to bring him here to see what you think about it, y-your majesty."

The sultan looked at Lilac. He alredy had a bad impression of him. He looked so...common, not enough for someone like his son. But he decided to give him a chance. He didn't really care much about the appearance, as long as he found a bodyguard for his "precious" son. He really needed one at that moment.

"Alright, I'll give you a chance, but do bit think that i'll hire you so easly. You have to show me that you are suited for this job, that you are good enough to be trusted to ho around with my son and protect him."

". . ."

"Show your voice, or either i'll send you back"

Meanwhile, the guard quietely left.

"What do I have to do?"

"Good. Now, I will put you under many tests that will verify your combat skills. Starting right now!"

Saying that, he left the huge room, motioning for Lilac to follow him.
For the first time ever, he doubted of his skills and abilities. He knew he was good, but he also knew they the sultan cared so much about his son, and wanted the best for him. He thought of the money he would get from that mission, and this gave him motivation. He hurried to follow the other out of the room, quickly.
