"Hello?"

Nothing answered.

I sighed, yet another strange dream, nightmare, whatever it was.

It was white, a blinding white, I couldn't tell if I blinked or not, maybe I didn't need to blink.

And yet, it wasn't quiet. It sounded like there was distant chatter, some people speaking to each other, but not loud enough to make out.

"Hello?" I asked a little louder. The chattering stopped for a second, then continued.

I scoffed, and just... floated.

Until I woke up.

"Daniel? Are you awake?"

"I am now." I groaned, rubbing an eye as I sat up.

"Okay good, I have to ask you something."

"Sure." I opened my eyes and yawned loudly. "Go ahead."

"Where's my car?"

I looked over at my partner, as he sat up in bed, his chest exposed. "Huh?"

He sucked his bottom lip for a second. "Heh... My car is gone? I was gonna head to the coffee shop, I was all dressed and everything... and I went out to where my car should be."

"It... wasn't there?"

"No."

"What? Did someone steal it?"

"Well, that's what I was thinking as I came back inside." He rubbed the back of his neck. "Turns out it's on top of an office building." He pointed at the T.V. that was playing the local news channel.

"What the actual fuck."

"Gonna have to guess that maybe the villain took it?"

I sighed, and leaned back in bed, leaning on the headboard next to him. "I'll go get it, Tyler, don't worry."

He smiled. "Thank you, baby. I would've gone, but I knew you had asked me to stay here for a while to heal, I didn't want to make you mad."

I smiled sweetly at him. "Oh darling, I could never be mad at you." I pulled him close to me and started to kiss his neck.

He giggled. "Daniel! Go get my car and I'll do whatever you want, okay?" I pulled away to see his mischievous face. "I love you." He kissed me.

"I love you, too." I kissed him again. "Don't worry, I'll go get it, teach fuckface a lesson and be back in a jiffy."

Tyler giggled again. "Thank you, sweetheart."

"No problem." I winked at him and began to get ready.

In no time, I had flown over to the villain's 'hideout'.

"Oh! Octonman, I've been waiting for you!"

I rolled my eyes. "Jerry come on, couldn't you have waited for a weekday? I want the weekend to be spent with my loved ones."

"Don't call me Jerry you idiot! Also it's loved one."

"Yeah yeah, Jerry."

"Hey I know we do this for the money, but it's hard to pretend when you aren't." The villain crossed his arms. "Play the game, get the paycheck."

After years of villains and heroes going at each other with their super powers, it finally just turned into an act, so that they could get paid, and also keep the people paying high taxes. Nobody usually got hurt, sometimes injuries happened, like with Tyler. And some civilians.
