New Recruits

Chaper 1: New Recruits

Erwin stood in the courtyard of the Survey Corps' HQ, with the new recruits. He was doing role call to ensure that everyone on his list of new recruits was there as he was giving people the names of who they would be sharing a dorm with "Armin Arlert?" He called

Armin saluted and called out confidently, "Here, sir!" He tried to keep a brave face like everyone else although he wasn't very brave.

Erwin looked at the smaller blonde and smiled internally. He liked that Armin had so much confidence despite looking weaker than the other recruits "You'll be sharing with Eren Jaeger" he informed before moving on

Armin nodded. "Alright, sir." He said as he kept his salute until he was meant to stand in a neutural position. Once it was over Armin headed over to his room with Eren.

Eren happily collapsed on his new bed "Geez, I'm tired.." He complained

Armin smiled and sat on the other bed. He took out a book to read before they were meant to head out to the mess hall for dinner. "Yeah, me too." He said with a slight yawn.

"Say Armin.." Eren spoke up after a while, smiling to himself "What do you think of the Commander?"

Armin perked up from his book looking at Eren curiously. "The Commander?" He asked. "Well I usually love his speeches and well...~" He paused for a moment. "I think he is handsome...~" he blushed slightly as he had said that quietly - almost inaudibly.

Eren grinned at Armin's words, sitting up "You totally like him!! I knew it!" He cheered

Armin blushed uncontrollably. "Oh yeah?!~ Well you like the Corporal!!~" he teased as he tried to hide his face from embarrassment.

Eren was blushing now as well "What?! I do not!!" He denied it, hiding his face

Armin started to laugh. "I guess we both like someone then...~"

Eren just blushed brighter, huffing a little. The two were open with each other about their sexualities so neither were surprised by the other's evident crush.

Armin went back to looking at his book. "Even if I did like the Commander... I probably wouldn't stand a chance with him..." he sighed sadly.

Eren shook his head "You never know until you try" he said

Armin shrugged. "Maybe you're right but he doesn't seem like the type of person who has time to date..." He started to get a little sad. "I don't even know if he likes boys or not..."

Eren sighed a little "Well you never know til you try Armin" he encouraged

Armin smiled slightly. "I'll try talk to him in the mess hall then." He said as he looked at Eren. "But I don't know what to say..."

Eren chuckled "Hello would be a good to start" he joked

Armin smiled at his friend's attempt to cheer him up but shook his head. "What kind of things could we talk about?"

Eren shrugged "I don't know, ask if you can sit with him and just see where it goes"

Armin nodded. "Alright I'll do that, thank you Eren~"

Eren smiled "Come on, it's about time we headed down to the mess hall"

Armin nodded in agreement then they both headed to the mess hall.

Once Erwin sent the recruits off to their rooms he went with Levi to look over some paperwork

Levi walked with him in thought, he glanced up at Erwin. "I saw how you looked at that blonde kid... Do you see something in him?" He asked giving his stoic face as usual.
