prologue

" I hate you."

"I know..."

She couldn't believe it. Never again would her (e/c) orbs look at him the same way again. Whatever she thought she knew about him was thrown out the window. Three years. Three whole years wasted and for what? Absolutely nothing. (Y/n) never thought that her perfect boy would do this to her.

"Do you te- kuroo," her voice stumbled as she corrected herself, "do you really know?" Tears were starting to pool in her (e/c) orbs. Kuroo almost looked away. Key word: almost. He knew that he couldn't avert her gaze, knowing that it would just break her heart even more. She was in pain. It was evident by the tears streaming down her face. Pain that he caused. Pain that he promised she would never feel.

"I don't know what to sa-"

"Nothing. You will say nothing." (Y/n) balled up her hands, refusing to let anymore tears come out. In fact, anger was seeping into her veins. And it was evident in the words that came out of her mouth. "You will stand here and listen. And you better listen carefully."

Kuroo was shocked at her tone of voice. Never in the three years that they dated, had he heard hate in her voice.

"We're done. I never want to hear your voice or see your face again. Don't text. Don't call. And don't you dare fucking try to apologize. As of this moment, you're nothing to me. You mean nothing."

Before he could get a word in, she walked out, slamming the door behind her. He stood there, lips parted, ready to scream her name. But he didn't. Nothing was coming out. Kuroo sank to his knees, tears streaming down his face.

These tears meant something to him. They were worth everything to him. They were simply tears of gold.

I have not written a fanfiction in probably five years now. :( I lost my passion for writing and have only just recently gained it back. I'm hoping that you stick around for the completion of this work. I will note, it probably won't be the best one you have read until i get back in the groove of things, but I really hope you enjoy!!
