After the dream fell asleep, wolbur carefully put him near to the fire and wondered off a bit to star gaze and think. But as luck would have it he was Interrupted.

"Wilbur" the voice was identical to dreams but had a slight echo to it.  Wilbur turned around and saw nightmare. The figure he'd seen before. He shared his body structure with dream and he looked human. He had red eyes, in contrast to dreams green ones. Black hair and pale skin with a few scar on.

"Nightmare?" Wil said, dream had told him the name.

"He truly trusts you, you know that" Nightmare said sitting down near wilbur.

"He does. You can see when your alone, he's relaxed and more open about things. It's nice to see him like that again." The red man said.

"What was he like before, well everything" wilbur asked. Looking up at the stars.

"He was kind, quiet, funny, wouldn't hurt a fly. Then father ruined it" nightmare said a small smile on his face.

"Can you tell me about his past, from before he met other Tommy and Phil. " Wilbur asked not expecting the answer he got.

"Sure. Why not" Nightmare said. It shocked wilbur, he didn't think he'd get anything at all.

"Dream and I are biological brothers, I'm the oldest, I was born 3 years before he was. To the king of the enemy kingdom to Phils. Growing up was a mess, our mother was gental and kind like dream was, while our father was a monster, greedy and selfish. He hated dream, we never knew why. Dream was always in the wrong and could never be good enough for him. When I was 8 I had an accident and ended up loosing my life. Dream then became the crown prince. However he ran, he didn't want to help is kingdom. He wanted freedom. So he started acting like me, boisterous, mischief and cunning. He ran from the castle for days and days on end until he found Tommy and you should know the rest" nightmare said,shrinking down the story, to not reveal much.

"... no wonder he's so closed off am I right" nightmare said glancing back at the sleeping dream.

"Whyd he stay here when we opened the gate the first time" wilbur said.

"He was scared, he knew his humanity was running low and well he didn't was to attack anyone, however he has been able to stay human, well a bit. That and he knew someone to close the gate, someone with experience behind them. Since Phil and bad where tired and no one else knew how to do it. " nightmare answered.

"That and these beasts are after him" he finshed saying. Wilbur didn't know what to say to that.

"..." Wilburs face seemed to show his brains thought track.

"You want to know why dont you" Nightmare said now looking at wilbur. Said man just nodded.

"They were originally made as tracking beast for out old kingdom. Something went missing or someone, the  they'd be released to find them. They wouldn't stop till they were found. Our grandfather and father however used this and changed them, turned it into a virus. When dream ran away they were sent to being him back. And even thing lead to another. Dream got infected and the virus got out." Nightmares voice was sift and quiet compared to before. 

"So what about you, better question what are you?" Wilbur then asked.

"Well I'm dreams dead brother. After making the armour he used my soul to finish it, so I'm honestly just a ghost possessing armour. " nightmare said witha  chuckle.

The two continued talking for a while before wilbur decided that hes go rest ready for whatever was in store for them the next day.
