tutor me, please?

a tutor huh?

—ANOTHER F? really??? and i really thought i did good too..

you were hopeless, or at least that's what you thought.

for the past 4 weeks your chemistry grade had been dropping after every test, quiz, pop quiz, etc.

you were now at a C in the class and you couldn't understand why. usually, you're an all A average student. you never did less than exemplar in any of your classes, so for your chemistry grade to be so low, it really bummed you out.

you were supposed to be the best but obviously you weren't anymore.

mina came up behind you and asked how you did on the test..

"an F, AGAIN??"

"alright now mina.." this was like the what? 7th F in a row now?

"i guess im just getting nowhere. i've been trying to study to understand the material but i just don't. like what even is a sig fig??" you said exasperatedly.

mina gave you an empathetic look.

"hey maybe you just need someone else to explain it to you, you know like a tutor!" she said

a tutor huh?

"who would even tutor me?"

mina looked around the classroom before her eyes landed on a few people

"well there's iida he's like 4th in the class right? then momo i think she's 2nd.. oh midoryia too, he's 3rd and of course there's bakugou. he's 1st now since your grades dropped..."

you side eyed her.

"okay sorry"

well i'm gonna try to avoid bakugou for..obvious reasons. maybe i should try iida, he's class rep and probably wouldn't say no.

"you know what mina, you're right. i'll go ask iida if he'll tutor me and see how things go from there" you said while feeling a bit better.

if iida could help you then maybe you'd be able to take your former place as top of the class again.

"okay good luck" said mina as she began packing her things to leave.

you looked around the classroom for iida before you found him and started walking up to him.

"hey iida, you got a minute?"

he looked up from his bag before standing up.

"of course, what do you need l/n?"

"umm, i wanted to know if you'd be able to tutor me? please??"

iida looked a little shocked before finally giving you a response. "tutor you? aren't you top of the class?"

well that certainly hurt

your smile dropped a little. "yeah i was before i started failing chemistry. i think this is the 7th F in a row i've gotten on a test. i've been trying my best to study but no matter what, i always end up failing. i don't know what i'm doing wrong."

iida noticed you feeling a little down so he put a comforting hand on your shoulder. "don't be upset, a lot of people have trouble in school. all that matters is that you try your best to do better, and i can see that you are. so of course i'll tutor you. it's my job as class rep to make sure all students in 2a succeed anyway."

you smiled up at him "you'd really do that?"

he smiled back "yes i would."

before long he remembered his hand on your shoulder and blushed a little before taking it back.

"i'll give you my number so we can work out a schedule okay?" he said, his face still a little pink.

"okay" you gave him your phone to put his number in then started on your way back to your seat.

"i'll text you later iida" you said as you started packing your things to go.

he nodded his head before leaving the classroom.

you caught up with mina right before she left

"so how'd it go?" mina asked

"oh good, he said he'll tutor me so now i just have to text him to work out a schedule." you said.

"oh that's good, hope it all goes well."

you smiled at her

"yeah me too"

okay guys this is like a lil introduction to the story, yk just to get the ball moving and whatnot.

btw this is based off a true story cause i was having trouble in chem for like the longest time ever. like seriously, i still don't even know what a sig fig is.
