John's POV
As I sat on my cold chair, my heart began to race as the dark of night drew closer and the calls of the jungle grew louder. I was abandoned in a research facility on an uninhabited island... or so we thought.

Five weeks ago my college chose ten students to go to an archipelago in the middle of the Pacific. We were crammed into a tiny private aircraft like sardines in a can and, after three hours of waiting for the wing to be fixed, we finally took off. I knew that after this and the whole fiasco with the college losing our luggage, this trip wasn't going to be great.

I could feel my palms grow sweaty as they started to pound on the windows. I tried to get a fire extinguisher and couldn't reach it because my limbs were bound to my chair. I could only sit there and wait. Wait for them to eventually break the glass that sheltered me from the outside world , certain death.

The glass shattered into a million pieces as they burst through. I flinched as shards flew past my head and grazed my cheeks...
This is it... I thought, This is it I'm going to die...
