THE ATMOSPHERE INSIDE the room was anything but cheerful.
Yes, the group had made it out alive yet again when encountering an infected. But at what cost? The infected wasn't just any student, he was one of them, one of the group.

Gyeongsu shouldn't have died, not in a gruesome way like that.

Everyone was in some sort of shellshock as they sat in silence to process what had happened just minutes ago. Daesu was sniffling, a tissue in his hand as he wiped away the occasional tear and some snot running down his nose. Cheongsan stood in front of the open window his friend had fallen through not long ago, his eyes focused on the school ground.

"I told you all," Nayeon chirped in, unwanted. "He was infected. You were all wrong, only I was right. What would you even do without me?"

"Nayeon, just shut up," Yoona sighed in annoyance, tired from all the events that kept her up the whole time without a chance to sleep in sight.

"You're giving me a headache just from breathing too loud, so please just shut your damn mouth. No one's in the mood for your bantering, and Gyeongsu isn't here anymore for you to insult so why open your mouth anyway? It's no use." She didn't intend on blabbering out the last part about Gyeongsu, but Yoona was just tired to the point her lips moved faster than her mind could think. Suhyeok put a hand on her shoulder, silencing her as he shook his head to keep her from ranting on.

"Hey, maybe you did it," Namra spoke up, her eyes fixed on Nayeon. She walked up to Nayeon, who sat on a chair and looked like a deer caught in headlights. "I saw everything. You're the one who did it."

"What?" Nayeon stood up, trying to level herself with Namra's height. "I didn't do anything to Gyeongsu!"

"I didn't say anything about Gyeongsu."

Everyone perked up in confusion about what was happening.

"While we were all watching Gyeongsu, you were in the back all alone. You wiped that blood with your handkerchief." Namra pointed towards the broom the boys had used to defend the group from the zombie coming through the window earlier. Yoona furrowed her brows, thinking back to when Gyeongsu wouldn't come out of the room. She was in a deep conversation about Jaehyun with Suhyeok when Mrs. Park went into the recording room to talk to Gyeongsu.

"You wiped that on the scratches on Gyeongsu's hand. It's in your pocket."

"I did not," Nayeon defended herself, tilting her head high in an intimidating position. "And what about it?"

"Take it out," Namra demanded, not letting this conversation go.

"No." Nayeon refused.

"Yes, take it out." Namra demanded further.

"No, I won't!" Nayeon slapped away Namra's hand as she tried to grab her pocket. Suhyeok jumped up in defense of Namra, if she needed him.

"Should I take it out?" Namra tried grabbing Nayeon's pocket again, but was met with Nayeon cursing under her breath and pushing Namra away in order to prevent her from getting the handkerchief.

"Who the hell do you think you are? Class president."

Slap!

Namra slapped Nayeon clean across her face without any emotions showing on her face. A small smile formed on Yoona's lips. "You never treated me like class president."

"Namra, stop it," Mrs. Park came into the scene. "Do you realise what you're saying? If that is true, it means Nayeon killed Gyeongsu."

"She did it. It's true."

"There," Nayeon pulled out the handkerchief and threw it against Namra's chest. "You fucking cunt, there you have it. Are you happy now?"

"This is blood," Namra stated as she picked up the small piece from the ground. "This is his blood?"

"I wiped his hand, if you can't tell."

"Then wipe it on your wound."

"Like his blood is so clean? He was a zombie," Nayeon seemed nervous. Namra threw away the handkerchief. "So why was he just fine until you infected him?"

"Nayeon you-" Cheongsan took a step forward to get to the girl in the pink jacket, but was held back by Suhyeok and Yoona, who stood right next to him.

"Damn it! It wasn't me!" She grabbed the handkerchief from the ground, kneeled down and hovered it over her wound, hesitating to put it on her skin. She breathed heavily. "Fuck!" Mrs. Park came to her, telling her to stop and forcing the piece of cloth out of her hands.

Nayeon stood up, furious. "I should just die too, then? That's what you want, isn't it?" She whimpers. "Why is Gyeongsu better than me? That dirty welfie pushed me."

"Maybe because he didn't kill someone out of spite," Yoona breathed out. "You sacrificed him just to prove your point?" Cheongsan stepped forward again, catching Yoona off guard who let go of him. Thankfully, Daesu jumped in and kept him with Suhyeok togetherfrom storming over to where Nayeon stood.

"I didn't kill him!" Nayeon stomped her foot to the ground. "He fell and got up, I didn't kill him. He's just infected."

"Oh my-" Yoona pinched the bridge of her nose. "You gotta be kidding me, you don't seriously believe you did nothing wrong? That you didn't kill him? Jesus, you really have no brain cells, do you?"

"Stop ganging up on me! When I said he smelled, you all laughed. You made fun of him, too. Don't try to act all innocent now." Nayeon kept her head high, not faltering.

"You fucking-" Cheongsan was able to free himself from Suhyeok's and Daesu's grip and stormed towards Nayeon, pushing her to the ground. "You fucking killed him! How could you kill him?

You're... a murderer."

Nayeon started sobbing on the ground, her eyes and cheeks stained with salty tears. "I... I have no friends."

"So because you're insecure and alone, you start killing people?" Yoona complained under her breath, earning a push to her ribs from Suhyeok.

"I don't need any of you," Nayeon spat on the ground. "Fuck you." She stood up abruptly, pushing the door open and vanishing into the hallway. Yoona gasped in shock, not having thought she'd pull through like that.

When Wujin tried to get to the door to get her back inside where it was safe, Mrs. Park stopped him as she got in front of it just in time. He backed away when he realised she wouldn't let him through to call Nayeon back.

"Listen,... No matter what happens, you stay alive. Also, you must never take a life. If you cause someone else to die, life becomes completely meaningless. All right?"

"Mrs. Park, you won't just leave-" Yoona was interrupted when her teacher opened the door just enough to slide through it before closing it in an instant, going after her lost student. "-us."

"Mrs. Park! Mrs. Park!" Daesu tried to go after her, but was held back by Wujin. He panted in distress, not believing what had just happened.

"She's gone."
