You rolled over in bed, turning on the holopad Hunter had given you last night. Your bed was warm, it was early in the morning, but you couldn't sleep. Partially this was due to excitement about your mission you were about to do, and also because you had started having nightmares about fire, and the forest burning.

The holopad booted up, you logged in using the password Hunter had given to you which was a play on 'Missy' the nickname Cid had dubbed you with. The mission pulled up for you seemed super simple and basic compared to the one you had just done with the 'Bad batch' yesterday. In short, some families had lost something near their village while moving between towns. You and Hunter were hired to go find it. It wasn't living, so probably just an object of some kind, nothing super important. If anything, this would probably be a short mission.

You didn't want to say you were disappointed, especially since your first mission had been so much more than you expected. But this did seem like some fill in busy work compared to what you expected hired mercenaries to do. Maybe Tech and Hunter had said something to Cid in their report meeting that caused her to assign you this 'easy' job. Maybe Tech was supposed to go and decided it would be too boring. All the same, you had to get up and get ready soon. Needed to prep the bar for your time away and prepare yourself for flying out.

You and Hunter had talked a bit over the plan;

"Since this is just us, we can take my ship" you said, cleaning the armor they had let you borrow.

"You might want to hold onto that for nextime" he said, as you handed him back the Helmet.

"You can keep that part" you replied with a chuckle" don't want to accidentally hit anyone like I almost did".

Hunter chuckled "Alright, I'll see if I can find something without the visor on it".

"Thanks".

"So your ship?" Hunter continued, "What's her name?"

"Milovaný '' you replied with a gentle smile as you said its name. The ship in question was a slightly modified light freight-transport ship from someplace like Naboo. It was designed and customized by Davids family to act like a small home away from home (basically a starship RV). It had some storage, one wall was a wide bed that could barely fit two people, and the front control panel had only one driver seat. Milovaný had limited firepower, and its shields could only take so much fire. However it was a fast and nimble ship, designed to stop and fly in almost any direction. David once claimed he could outmaneuver any enemy craft although you had never seen or tried to do it yourself.

In truth, you knew little about the ship. You had some ideas about the different classes and could identify war ships vs. other transports. But you had no idea what the make, model, or anything of your ship was. It had always been David's ship, and so you remembered what little he had told you about it. Main thing was that you could fly it, and repair it to a certain degree, that was enough. You felt a smile coming to your face as you remembered some of the instructions David had given you.

"Beloved," Hunter said, and you turned sharply to look at him, "what?" you asked, unsure you had heard him right.

Given your reaction Hunter decided not to say anymore, "I was just saying that I'll get packing. Lets leave in another hour, the planet will be a decent trip from here. Can your ship do hyperspace?"

"Yeah, I'll start getting her ready" You replied as he walked away. You were pretty sure you had heard him say -beloved- which was the translated name of your ship Milovaný. You didn't actually know what language it was, just that David told you that was the meaning. It was a nickname for David when he was young, and for a while had become a nickname for you before you had gotten engaged. You shook the thoughts from your head, hearing someone read it shouldn't have shaken you so much. It was probably a fairly common language and you just hadn't known he could read it. That was all. You finish cleaning out the armor and take it to your ship, clearing off your bed, hiding your treasured box, and preparing the ship for take off to prevent objects from flying around.
