Her Teacher. His Student.

2 In The Morning Talk!

Ring.
Ring.
Ring.

I turned myself over on my bed to reach the side table to see my mom calling me. I look at the time 2:12 A. M.

Why is she calling so early?

I pick up the phone to hear my Mama's gentle voice.

"Hey baby, how are you?" She asks

"Hey mama..I was sleeping until someone decided to call me at 2:12 in the morning." I said back tiredly

"Oh.. sorry, I keep forgetting that the time there is different." She said with a small chuckle at the end.

"It's fine mama. I'm good, how are you?"

"I'm good sweetie. I just wanted to see how you were. I'm sorry I woke you up. I'll let you go back to sleep." She said and before I could answer she hung up.

Seriously!  I love my mom. But she called woke me up and then hung up basically.

I throw the covers off me and get out of bed. I walk to the bathroom and do my business. I walk out drying my hands and opened my bedroom door quietly trying not to wake Aurora. It's Saturday now. It's not even been a day since she's been here. We haven't talked once probably because she's trying to get use to living with her teacher.

I walked downstairs to the kitchen to see a shadow sitting in one of the barstools. I noticed it to be Aurora's figure.

What is she doing up?

I walk towards the fridge and open it. I grab a water bottle and close the fridge. I turn around to face Aurora to see her already looking at me.

It's dark, but I can feel her eyes on me. That and my eyes have adjusted to the dark so I can literally see her watching me.

I take the cap off the bottle and take a sip out of it. I then place the cap back on the bottle and place the bottle on the counter.

"Are you just going to keep watching me? Or do you actually wanna say something?" I ask her.

"Sorry. I was just wondering why you let me stay here." She asked me

"I thought I already told you.. or I said it to myself." I tell her saying the last part quietly so she won't hear me.

"Anyway, I let you stay here because no one should have to go through what you did. And I kinda got the feeling that you didn't wanna live with any of your family because of.. reasons. So I let you stay here because if you didn't have anywhere to go they would have put you somewhere else. " I tell her.

" Oh..... well, thank you. " She says back as she puts her head down on her arms that are laying on the counter.

" No problem. You should probably go back to your room and go to sleep. " I tell her.

I hear her whisper an 'okay' as she jumps off the barstool and walks back upstairs.

I grab my water and make sure all the doors are locked since I didn't do that when I went to bed because I forgot. Luckily, they were all already locked. So I walked back upstairs to my room.

Once I walked in, I put my water on the night stand and walked to my bathroom. I took a quick shower just because and got back in bed. I quickly fell asleep.

I'm sorry it's really short. I wouldn't even call it a chapter. 😅 But I'm very tired and I have school in a couple hours so imma try to go to bed and get a couple hours of sleep.
