SIX MONTHS AFTER SUNSHINE

BEFORE

Somehow Thalia, Carl, and Lucas were among the first group to make it to hilltop, after splitting up into groups of three they all parted ways.

Rick and Michonne were off doing god knows what, and another group left later in the morning to leave. Luckily getting blow out of a house gets you pushed to the front which is why Carl and Thalia were sent over first.

Both managed to get away with a few bruises and scrapes, Thalia had gotten stitched up and left walking with her, now familiar, limp. Carl claimed he was fine but kept slurring his words and stumbling like a baby giraffe, he had a few bruises of his head so they assumed it was a concussion.

When they arrived Maggie greeted them, grabbing ahold of the young girls face and hugging her so tight it nearly fractured a rib.

It was nice to see the woman after so long, especially with everything else that had just happened seeing a familiar face such as hers made the past week feel lighter.

"Hate to break up the reunion but Carl seriously needs a doctor," Lucas' rough voice broke the two apart as they both looked a few feet away where the younger was kneeled over in the grass throwing up.

Thalia pulled away from Maggie rushing over to stand behind the boy and place a hand on his back, his body shook as he finished breathing heavy while he wrapped an arm around his stomach, slowly standing up.

Immediately he began to slouch causing the girl to loop an arm around his waist to keep him up, "Woah yeah okay doctor now," she mumbled as Lucas held his other side up helping the girl as they followed behind Maggie.

Looking over at the boy her eyebrows knitted watching his eyes blink slowly and the sweat gather on his face, "Carl, love look at me."

It took a second for his eye to open but when they did it seemed like he wasn't even there, his mouth opened but all that came out was a deep groan of pain. The pair managed to get him to the house with little trouble, Lucas did most of the work especially when it got to the stairs.

Finding the first empty room they gently laid the boy down on the bed, moving quickly as Maggie shouted outside the room yelling for someone to get the doctor.

Carl had an arm wrapped around his stomach as he sucked in a tight breath, "I w-was stabbed, a lot," he heaved, with shaky hands rolling up his t-shirt to reveal the messy makeshift wrap he had on it.

The boy untied the loose knot releasing the shirt and revealing a deep gash in his lower stomach, "Holy shit," Lucas mumbled abruptly.

The girls hands froze her mouth opening as she stared at the wound, it looked like someone had taken Michonne's katana and hit him a few times, hard. Even worse it had been on the same side as his gunshot, right below the wound as if on purpose.

It was so deep that she could see past the layer of skin and inside, if it hadn't been one of four people laying below her she would've puked.

The sight was gone quickly as Lucas placed towels over it so it wasn't visible, looking away from the bloodied mess Thalia let her gaze wander back up to the others face. He was blinking slowly as sweat lined his forehead, "When Carl?"

Noise suddenly flooded the room as the doctor finally came in followed by Siddiq and Maggie who were both carrying duffel bags.

"Before the sewer, got jumped for a sec," he slurred letting the girl take his flannel off and toss it on the floor. His eye began to close with a few more blinks as his body started shaking, behind her Siddiq said something about an infection and blood loss.
