"Hello fifth years!" Remus said and a choir of greetings could be heard. "I am your new Defence Against The Dark Arts teacher, Remus Lupin. Today, we are going to be learning about boggarts. Does anyone here know what a boggart is?"
I raised my hand.
"Yes, miss Black."
"A boggart is a shape-shifting creature that will assume the form of whatever most frightens the person who encounters it." I smiled.
"Very good! Five points to Slytherin!"
Groans were heard from all over the room from the Gryffindors. I looked back and stuck my tongue out at Fred, making him smirk.
"Mister... Weasley! Come here please!"
Fred and George looked at each other, almost bursting into laughter.
"Which Weasley, professor?" George asked, grinning from ear to ear.
"Ah, yes... Fred!"
Fred walked, his steps quick.
"Now, when I let the boggart out, you must imagine your worst fear, point your wand at it and chant "Ridikulus". Understood?"
"Yes, professor!"
Remus opened the door to the closet that stood in front of the young Weasley, a black shadow emerged from it, quickly turning into his brother, laying on the floor, in a pool of his own blood.
"Georgie..." Fred whispered sadly.
"Freddie, please help!" The mimic of his brother screamed.
"Quick, Fred! "Ridikulus"!"
"Ridikulus!" Fred screamed.
Then, in a matter of seconds, George stood up and started slipping on the now black liquid on the floor, making the whole class laugh.
"Thank you, mister Weasley! Students, please, form a line."
As Fred got to his brother, he hugged him tightly.
"Hah! I was your boggart! You loove me!" George laughed at his brother.
Fred chuckled "Shut up, you dumb prick."
After a while, it was my turn, and I was stood in front of my father, his hair long and tangled and his face wearing a sadistic grin.
"How I've missed you, Ophidia. You've no idea..." Sirius Black walked closer to me.
"Get back.." I warned, my voice shaking.
His face twisted, his eyebrows furrowing and his smile dropping in an almost inhumane way.
"You brat!" he shouted "One day, you will join me! You will join us!"
Tears threatend to leave my eyes"Please, stop.."
"You are just like me, Ophi... You are my exact copy. What a disappointment it is to me that you side with the wrong people...mudbloods and blood traitors. What a shame..."
"Fuck you." I quietly said "Ridikulus!"
Quickly, Sirius had on a clown outfit and started dancing.
Remus shoved the boggart back into the dresser.
"Alright everyone, you're dismissed!"
Groans could be heard from all around the room.
"We shall continue next time!"•••
"It felt so...real."
"I'm sure it did, Dia. But it's not." Theo placed his hand on my thigh.
"I don't want to be like him." I looked into his eyes.
"You aren't, and you will never be. You're good, Ophidia." He kissed me softly.
"Thanks."
Theo kissed me again his tongue entering my mouth and fighting my own for dominance.
"Theo, wait."
"What is it, baby?"
"We can't do this again..."
He swiftly pulled me onto his lap, his hands cupping my ass "Why stop if it feels so good, hm?"
"This is wrong, you're one of my best friends..."
"And?" He looked at me, his head tilted.
"Theo.... Shit! What time is it?!"
"I think around five. Why...?"
I quickly got up from his lap and grabbed my things.
"I'm supposed to be meeting up with Cedric at about...now! I'll see you later!"
Theo chucked "Say hi to him for me." He got up from his bed and kissed me.
"Yeah, bye!""I'm so sorry, Ced! I was with Theo." I hugged my best friend.
Cedric and I have been friends since before we could talk. His father and uncle Remus are old friends and often met up when we were younger. Ever since I can remember, Cedric and I have been inseparable.
He was the first one to know about Theo and I and up until yesterday, the only one.
"It's alright, Ophi. Don't sweat it." We sat down on the windowsill of an abandoned bathroom.
"You two still going at it?"
"Yeah... I really don't know what to do. I like what we have but I don't want to ruin our friendship."
I took out a cigarette and lit it with a lighter Nate gifted me at the end of our fourth year.
"Do you like him?"
"Sure I do, Theo's a great guy!" I chucked nervously.
"No... do you like him?"
"Oh... no, not really. At least I don't think so."
"Well then, if there are no feelings in the middle, then you shouldn't worry about your friendship. If one of you decides to end it one day, no one will get hurt."
I took a long drag from my cigarette.
"Yeah, I guess you're right." "God, why are you always right?" I playfully shoved him.
He laughed and raised his shoulders.
"How are you?" He asked.
"I'm okay...?"
"No, I mean...with the whole stuff with your dad."
"Oh." I paused "I've been better. It's hard..."
Cedric nodded, signing for me to continue.
"It hurts. Knowing he's a terrible person. I just wish for it to not be true, you know? I want it all to be a lie, I want him to be good... but I know he's not."
"You know, Ophi... your father may be a horrible person, but that doesn't make you one."
I sincerely smiled at him.
"Thank you, Ced. For everything.""It's no biggie, really. You know I'm always here for you. I'll always be here for you. You're my best friend."
I hugged him "I love you, Ced. Same goes for me."
"I love you too, Ophidia. Hey, by the way, Fred Weasley was looking for you last night."
"What did he want?" I finished my cigarette with one final drag and got up to throw the bud in one of the toilets.
"I'm not sure, but he looked pretty nervous!" Cedric spoke louder so I could hear him.
"Wonder what he'd be nervous about.... Actually..."
"What?"
"We almost kissed on our way to Hogwarts.."
Cedric gasped dramatically "Ophidia Black! Dare I say you're slowly becoming a slut?"
"I mean I guess you could...I'll never be a bigger slag than you, don't worry."
He jokingly shoved me and we both burst into laughter.
"How's it going with Hannah?" Hannah Jones was a sweet Hufflepuff girl in the same year as me. Her and Cedric had been a thing since the summer.
"I don't know... she's a sweet girl but she's a bit boring" Cedric scratched his head.
"Yeah...she kind of is"
"I feel bad. She's really nice and she cares about me but when I hear her talk I get fucking chills. Sometimes I just want to tell her to shut the fuck up."
"I get it. If you don't like her anymore it's better to just tell her. If you don't break it off, she'll get more attached."
"But what do I tell her...?"
"Just say that you're different people and you think she deserves someone that can treat her the way she should be treated and you're not ready for a committed relationship"
"Yeah... yeah that's good. Thank you Ophi."
"Of course." I gave him a small nudge and pulled out another cigarette.
"Should I go tell her now?"
"Sure. Yeah, go for it. I'll see you tomorrow"
Cedric gave me a quick kiss on the forehead and quickly walked out of the bathroom mumbling a 'bye'.
Should I break it off with Theo? I can't afford to fuck our friendship up. Why was Fred looking for me? I'll just go look for him and if he brings up what happened on the train I'll tell him we can't be more than friends. I don't like either of them.
Why do I do this shit to myself?
Hi guys! Sorry I haven't updated in like 1000 years but i've had a lot of shit going on and I honestly forgot...
What will Ophidia do? Will she end things with Theo? What will she tell Fred...?
