Summer is over and getting back into routine is terrible. I had the whole holiday to figure things out, yet I chose not to. Getting my license was basically all I did. Things between Kyle and I are nothing but a blur and for some funny reason that doesn't even bother me anymore. He wanted the sweetness of my skin and our body entangled, I on the other hand was raised like any girl with good morals like waiting for marriage and not giving in easily. Truth is, I was just scared. I mean, all my friends has been with guys even since high school, but each time I get there, my feet turns cold, my knees grows weak and I get scared like a little girl afraid of heights. Although, I'm not going to deny that I am in fact scared of heights.
I walk up to Jenny so self-conscious about the incredibly short dress I have on. It didn't feel this tight when I put it on the first time.
"Look at you!" She freaks out and grab my hands. "You look hot. Oh Kyle will be so jealous to see you."
"Well, I hope he doesn't," I respond and look around guiltily. She grabs my arm and starts walking with me into the building. There's music playing and everyone is standing around drinking and having fun. I only recognise a few of my classmates, luckily no sign of Kyle.
"Let's get ourselves a drink!" Jenny speaks through the noise and pull me after her to the bar to get us something to drink. I look at the dance floor seeing a handsome man dancing with a girl and spinning her wildly. The crowd has made a circle around him. They're doing some sort of tango or something.
The night went on pretty well and honestly I enjoyed it. We danced for a while then sat and just spoke about life and the future. Jenny is my best friend since primary school, so yes we've come a very long way.
"Woah!" The crowd cheers again. I look to see the same gentleman dancing with another woman again. Seems like everyone is begging to have a dance with him.
"He's like a shopping basket. Everyone wants him to carry things for them, but doesn't take him home," I mutter to Jenny and look right behind her at a man that sat there alone just staring at the dancers. He looks so handsome. For a moment I stopped breathing. "Wow."
"You know, I've known you for almost all my life and yet I still don't really understand what you mean," Jenny says not even paying attention to me. "I'm going to dance with him."
"Sure," I respond and to my surprise the strange looks at me. He raises an eyebrow and sends me a little wave. I wave back at him and watch Jenny get up and running to the crowd. I inhale deeply and just watch her. I don't mind my friend having fun, even when I'm not feeling it, but leaving me alone, not very good.
"Are you okay?"
I look up and see the man I've been staring out. Oh my gosh, he looks even better up close.
"Hi, yes," I smile surprised. "Take a seat if you like."
"Thanks," he takes a seat and look around then back at me with an awkward smile. "I'm Stephen."
"Annasophia, but my friends calls me Anna or Sophia," I say and give my hand to him. He shakes it gently and nod at me with a smile.
"Right, so I'm just going to cut to the end. I saw you staring at me and thought I'd just come say hi. I am married so not interested in any form of love affair," he says all in one breath. I laugh and shake my head folding my arms.
"If you're married, why did you come here?" I ask. He raise an eyebrow and just scan my face. "Relax hotshot, I'm not interested. You were lonely and I felt sorry for you. Thanks for your honesty though."
"This got awkward," he chuckles and sits back in the chair. "I apologize for making a thing about it. Just last night a girl was staring at me as well and soon came past me, put her number in front of me and nearly killed me this morning in public because I didn't call her."
"I can't blame you then," I shrug my shoulders and giggle. "So how long have you been married?"
"Not long," he smiles. "Are you married?"
"Nope, I'm not married," I shake my head happily. "I had a boyfriend, but he dumped me for...for a freshmen."
"Wow, that took a turn," he says shocked. I nod in agreement and look at Jenny that's shouting for me and showing me what a great time she's having. I just laugh and look at Stephen again. "Is she your sister?"
"Sisters at heart," I nod my head. "We've basically grown up together."
"Those are special type of relationships," I hear his voice. I nod my head with a giggle and inhale deeply. "Hey, I know I kind of spoiled the moment, but...would you like to dance?"
"Oh no-no-no, I can't dance," I giggle in denial and shake my head nervously.
"Come on, let's show them who rules the dance floor," he gets up and holds his hand out to me. I inhale nervously and put my hand in his running with him to the dance floor. He pull me against his body and fold his one arm around my waist. "Just follow me, okay?"
"No, sir. I don't follow, I lead," I wink at him and starts rolling my pelvis against him dancing like a naughty school girl.
"Dirty dancing," he laughs and joins me. The crowd is loud around us and the music cuts off the rest of the world. Why does he have to be married? He smells amazing, his body movements are driving me insane and the deep dark look in his eyes...he's killing me.
He turns me around and pull me back. Drunk revengful me, turns my back on him and start grinding my butt against him. I run my hand over his face and throw my head back. He caresses my lower ribs over my stomach and my sides. His face is pushed against my hair in my neck. I can say we rulled the dance floor, but most importantly we ruled each other. Having to say goodbye though, is not such an excellent feeling. I do not enjoy that."What happened between you and that hotty?" Drunk Jenny asks me and throw her arm around my shoulder while we're walking home. Yes, two drunk girls in the dark is not safe.
"He's married," I say and pretend to cry and laugh awkwardly afterwards. "Why does all the good men have to either gay or married?"
"Because they're good!"
