I quietly read my book on the veranda of my room when I suddenly heard a noise from below.
My brow furrowed because of the noise it made, ruining my mood for reading.
However, my furrowed brow did not last long as my eyes widened in anger at the thought that someone else might be down there besides me
I quickly stood up from my seat and carefully placed the book on the small table on my veranda.
I placed it carefully because I didn't want to make any noise that might alert someone to my presence.
I couldn't stay still as all sorts of bad scenarios ran through my mind of what might be happening down there.
While I was preoccupied with worrying about my safety, my mind couldn't help but be curious as to what was causing the noises from below.
Because of the idea that entered my mind, my curiosity only grew, pushing my head to the brink. I quickly dismissed the idea that it might be more dangerous for me.
Every minute that passed felt like an hour due to my feeling of nervousness and fear.
While I was listening to the noises coming from below, I noticed that they stopped.
After a few minutes of not hearing any noise from below, I decided to do the idea that I had dismissed earlier.
I slowly approached the door of my room, but before I opened I listened again to see if there were still any noises coming from below.
I knew it wasn't a good idea to do this because even if there were no noises, it didn't mean it was safe for me to go down and follow the idea that might be dangerous due to my curiosity.
Despite my inner debate, I slowly put my hand on the doorknob and slowly turned it to open the door. I slowly stepped out of my door and slowly walked towards the stairs.
My trembling hands held onto the railing of the stairs and I slowly and shakily descended the stairs.
My eyes scanned the surroundings of my house. I couldn't help but be scared to look back at the kitchen in case the person I was afraid of was there.
"What are you doing Ely?" Because of the familiar voice I heard from behind me, I was shocked to turn around at the kitchen.
When I turned around, I saw a man wearing casual attire sitting at the counter of my kitchen with a glass in his hand.
My furrowed brow and raised eyebrow didn't escape him and the emotion on my face started to fade as the anger I was feeling towards the man in front of me started to take over.
"FENRIZ BLAKE HANSLEV!!"
