I never knew what true loneliness was until I was taken away from my friends, my family. My entire life, I had been judged solely on who my mother was, Bellatrix Lestrange. People stopped hanging out with me when they found out, which caused me to have to do things, things I really didn’t want to do. The first time it happened was when I was First Year at Hogwarts. Professor Snape had been keeping a close eye on me, knowing the Dark Lord would try to make contact with me, whisking me away whenever Professor Quirrell came anywhere near me.
It was during one of these times Professor Snape whisked me off that someone found out. He had dragged me out of the Great Hall and I ripped my arm from his grasp, turning to him angrily.
“ Severus! Stop doing that!”
“ I’m sorry my Lady, but-”
“ No! I understand you are trying to save me from the cruelty of the Dark Lord, and for that I am grateful, but there have been whispers on why you drag me away whenever he is near. People are starting to suspect things.”
“ My Lady, it is for your own good, the Dark Lord has his eye on you and I fear for your life.”
“ Severus, I’m old enough to handle myself. Now please stop treating me like my mother does, I beg of you.”
Severus bowed his head.
“ As you wish, Miss Lestrange.”
“ Sevrus, I told you not to call me by my real last name here, someone could overhear.”
“ Of course, pardon my ignorance, Miss Rebel.”
He bowed his head once more before walking away and back into the Great Hall. I sighed, resting my head back against the wall. I heard a gasp somewhere, my head whipping to the side to see one of the First Year girls from Hufflepuff staring at me. I walked towards her, spelling her in place, preventing her from moving.
“ Who are you?”
“ W-Wendy Th-Thorne.”
“ How much did you hear, Wendy Thorne?”
“ Y-You’re Bellatrix Lestranges d-daughter.”
I sighed.
“ I really wish you hadn’t said that.”
“ What a-are you going to do t-to me?”
“ Don’t worry, I’m not going to kill you, I’m just going to make you forget what you heard.”
“ B-But how? W-We’re only First Y-Years.”
“ I may be a First Year like you, but I grew up hearing spells that even the Third Years’ haven’t heard of yet.”
I pointed my wand at her.
“ Obliviate.”
A flash flew towards her and she dropped to the ground. I tucked my wand away, walking over to her and kneeling beside her, shaking her.
“ Wendy? Wendy? Wake up.”
She stirred, sitting up and holding her head, looking around confusedly. She stared at me.
“ Wendy, are you alright? You scared me.”
“ Sorry, do I know you?”
I laughed a bit, nudging her.
“ Come on Wendy, it’s me Y/n, your best friend.”
“ You’re not my best friend.”
“ Don’t be silly Wendy, we’ve known each other since we were four, remember?”
