The following day Kei ate a quick breakfast before Anko woke up and headed on out for training with her father today.
The second she arrived at the destination, her father greeted her.
"So you arrive, hatchling," Orochimaru greeted, leaning against a tree wearing his sound jounin uniform as he looked at Kei.
"Yes, and ready to train, father," Kei replied with a bow of respect.
"Good, but before we begin, is something the matter?" Orochimaru asked, noticing she seemed slightly off as he looked into her eyes.
"Nothing you have to worry about. It be a waste of your time," She replied.
"I don't know you well and am not one to show emotion," Orochimaru started."However, a part of me can't seem to help it, but im concerned about you, hatchling," He finished with a faint smile, his heart worrying about his daughter.
'Is this what it feels like to be a father?' Orochimaru thought as he smiled at Kei, who looked at him with surprise.
"I kind of expect you to be more of a monster, but you actually don't seem so bad," Kei commented."Im just annoyed by the old Hokage's offer to train with me like he hasn't been lying to me all this time, saying he didn't know anything about you!"
"I see hatching that old man always been too blind to see he in the wrong," Orochimaru said with a hint of anger noticeable in his voice."I don't blame you for not taking the offer."
"You really don't like him," Kei said, noticing his rage.
"Alright enough, let's get started," Orochimaru said, getting serious and moving away from the subject.
'He really doesn't like the old man. He changed the subject so quickly. I wonder if there is a reason for that because I notice as well he seems annoyed just being in the village.' Kei thought and quickly shook her head; seeing her, Orochimaru was trying to get her attention, waving a hand in front of her face.
"My bad, let's begin," Kei apologized.
"I noticed that your taijutsu is quite similar to my style but could use a bit of work, so we're going to start there for now," Orochimaru explained.
"I always did struggle with that until I changed body movements."
"Your movements are still off, making your strike do less damage than they have the potential to do. I can tell you have incredible skill for a Genin and can quickly become Chunin with proper training."
"So, how will we work on improving my taijutsu?" She asked curiously.
Orochimaru closed his eyes in deep thought before he responded.
"The two of us are going to spar with each," He replied, opening his eyes and getting into the position of a snake, ready to strike.
"I don't stand a chance against a Sannin like you," Kei commented, a hint of surprise in her voice.
"If you're indeed my child, you won't hesitate to show me what your matter is, but then again, maybe your just a weakling trying to look like me," Orochimaru said in a mocking tone.
"I'm not a weakling! I will show you that Kei, the daughter of one of the Sannin, is made and one day surpasses you!" Kei exclaimed with a glint in her eyes, getting into a fighting stance.
'She, my child, alright, her eyes have my glint of determination, especially when I was training to become a ninja. I can even feel it from the power of her chakra, not my level, but it is strong for a genin.' Orochimaru thought, looking directly into Kei's eyes which were full of determination.
