anyone would rather choose money over anything else.
that's just how the human society works- holding currency above everyone's worth as people beat themselves to death just to have a piece of paper inside their wallets.
even non-money related things can be brought down by it. relationships being the first, in my opinion, that is.
and sadly enough, people know just how crucial it is to have money- as if it dictates how happy you're going to be if the numbers rise off the charts. as if money can dictate how people should love you- how people can look at you through social stratification.
that's why some relationships are bound on a one-way benefit.
because to them, if money can buy their happiness, then surely, it can buy their partners as well.
but we all forget one thing in terms of love.
giving and giving and giving and giving, no matter the price of that object, does not necessarily show your genuine feelings towards a person. it can even make them feel unloved because of it.
