Everyone gathered in Tony's lab. Steve wrapped his arm around me and pulled me close to him as possible. I smiled and wrapped my arm around his torso. Tony and everyone was rambling on and Steve asked me to follow Maria to the elevator. I did so and stood beside her.
"So what happened? I mean with that robot?" I asked.
"I'm not sure," she answered honestly.
"What happened earlier then? On the mission?" I asked.
"They encountered some new members and they're...weird," she explained. I looked at her. She pulled up the two's profile and showed me. "Wanda and Pietro Maximoff. Twins. He's fast, she messes with minds." I felt like she had had this conversation before.
"How are they a threat?" I asked. She shrugged.
"All I know is that they are science experiments for Hydra."
The elevator reached the floor and I saw Nycole and Rese. Nycole was dressed and ready to leave for something. I sat down on the couch and Maria left. Rese got up to get a drink and Nycole started speaking about going to find the robot.
"Nycole, what are you talking about?" I asked.
"I'm talking about going to figure out what's up with that thing," she said. "It's bugging me and so are those twins."
"Nycole, I'm not leaving," I replied. "And you're not either."
"Yes. I am. And Rese is going with."
"I haven't fully agreed yet!" Rese chimed in.
"Nycole-" I started, but she cut me off.
"Don't you want to know why Tony is acting weird? Why that robot attacked us? Why this is all happening?" I thought for a second, then sighed.
"You have to go get my suit," I told her. She jumped up and rushed to the elevator. I lied down on the couch and groaned. Rese sat across from me and smiled.
"That's sweet of you to do," she said. I shrugged.
"I can't let her do anything stupid alone," I told her. The elevator door opened and Nycole was immediately yelling at Steve and he was yelling back.
"She's going with! You don't own her, Steve! She can make decisions by herself!" Nycole yelled.
"This is dangerous! You don't know what you're getting into!" Steve yelled back. Nycole tossed my suit on the couch and told me to get dressed. "No, Audrey! Don't you dare!"
"What is going on?" Rese asked.
"Nothing!" Nycole and Steve yelled in unison. I faced Rese and smiled.
"One wants me to go and the other doesn't," I said.
"It's too dangerous!" Steve said.
"Go change!" Nycole yelled. I walked into my room and shut the door. Steve rushed in. I smiled and turned.
"Will you unzip my dress?" I asked.
"Why do you want to go?" He asked. I turned and kissed him.
"Because I want to," I told him. He placed his hands on my sides. "I want to make sure you'll be safe and everyone will be okay." He sighed.
"I don't control you...do I?" He asked. I shook my head.
"You don't. I promise," I whispered. He smiled. "I love you." He repeated it.
I finally changed and Steve led us to the helicopter. I was the last to get in, saying my goodbye to Steve. He gave my a tracker and a kiss then let me go. I got into the helicopter and sat beside Rese. She seemed to be so confused. Whatever she was looking at on her tablet was concerning her.

Once we landed in Sokovia, Rese stopped us. She gave us a jacket and different clothes to cover our suit. Apparently people here weren't too fond of the Avengers, so walking in dressed like them would most likely piss them off.
We walked around and found the building that the twins had lived in before. I looked around and noticed someone. The white-blonde hair stuck out. Everyone's hair was either dark or light brown. I followed this man until the two of us reached an alley where we were alone. He turned to me.
"Why are you following me?" He asked, a heavy accent that reminded me of Bucky when I first encountered him came out once he spoke.
"Sorry, you just look familiar," I told him.
"You don't," he said. I nodded.
"Well, I'm not that important so that's probably why," I replied. He smiled and nodded. I took a few steps closer to him. "Is this a suit?" I asked. He nodded. He seemed so relaxed as I stood by him. His profile had said he was a hot-head, so I didn't want to set anything off. "May I?" I asked to touch it. He nodded. I pulled at the sleeve on his arm. I couldn't tell what fabric it was, but I knew it before. "You look so familiar," I couldn't shake the fact that I've seen him before this day.
"You do too, now," he said. He looked at my hand. "Are you married?" He asked. I shook my head.
"Engaged for now," I told him. He nodded.
I know him...
"Pietro!" Someone yelled. Pietro looked behind me and took a step back. I turned and saw Wanda. Wanda glared at me. "Who are you?" She asked.
"I know her," Pietro said. Wanda came close to us. She stared at me for a second. She went to place her hands on my head, but I moved.
"Please?" She asked. I nodded. She placed her hands on my head and closed her eyes. "Adriella," she whispered. She opened her eyes and looked at Pietro. "She trained with us," she whispered.
"Adriella," he whispered.
"Adriella!" I heard Nycole yell. I turned and Nycole and Rese walked down the alley. Wanda tried to stop them.
"No!" I yelled. I tried to run towards them, but Pietro stopped me. I watched Wanda mess with the two's minds. "Pietro, stop her!" I yelled at him.
"I can't," he whispered. Pietro stared at Nycole. I yelled at Wanda.
"You betrayed us!" She yelled.
"I was brainwashed! I didn't betray you or Pietro! I'm sorry!" I yelled.
"You know the enemy," she said. "You are marrying the enemy."
"He is not the enemy," I said. Pietro let me go and caught Nycole as she fell. "I'm sorry." Wanda stared at me then yelled at Pietro to leave.
They left and I rushed over to Nycole and Rese. Once they came to, they were changed. I took them back to the helicopter and headed back to the tower. The two sat in the back, silently. They were completely different now. I told Maria we were arriving and to hurry to help me get the two off the helicopter.
I landed and Maria took the two downstairs. I walked back down and sat over the city. I stared at my ring for a second then sighed. I couldn't remember the twins, but I could remember them. There were times where I would pass them by or train by them, but I never spoke to them. They were in the room when I arrived.
"Are you okay?" Steve asked. I looked up at him and nodded. "You don't seem to be okay."
"I know them," I said. "I know the twins." Steve sat down across from me and took my hand. "They were around when I was in the hydra base."
"Audrey," Steve whispered. I looked at him and faked a smile. "I want you to stay with Bucky and Michelle or Pepper until this is all done."
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"What I mean is that I don't want you near us during this time," he said.
"Steve, do you not want me to be around you?" I asked.
"I don't want you to get hurt," he said. I nodded and stood up.
"I'll go stay with Bucky," I said.
"Please be safe," he replied. I nodded and went straight to Bucky and Michelle's. Steve called right when I got there and asked to talk to me, but I didn't want to. I told Bucky I was heading to the building again and left. Steve called my phone and I answered.
"Steve, I'm okay," I told him.
"I love you," he said. "I'm sorry, but I can't lose you."
"I love you, too, Steve. I understand. You be careful, okay?" I told him.
"I promise I will," he whispered. "When I come back, I'll show you a beautiful place where we can get married, okay?" I smiled. Steve was probably more excited to get married than I was.
"Okay," I said.
"I promise," he replied.
"I love you, Steven Grant," I whispered.
"I love you, too."
