After all of the commotion with the acceptance letters and all, Shae and I had began to get a program ready to have us prepared for the fall. First of all, we got fitness programs ready for both our horses and ourselves. Our horses would be hacked once, rode in a private flat lesson once, galloped once, rode up and down hills once, and jumped once in a week's schedule. By the end of the summer they would build up muscle, stamina, and endurance. For ourselves, we joined Bio Rider Fitness and were on a cross-training schedule as well to build up balance, stamina, muscle, core strength, and endurance. I had applied for a part time position at our local pharmacy and Shae was working for a family who was in the big time cattle business. Both of us worked for my grandma to help pay for horse expenses. Two jobs would hopefully cut it.
Along with the fitness programs, riding, and working two jobs, Shae and I offered to help run the summer camps that my Grandma hosted throughout the summer. Needless to say, we didn't have a lot of down time. But we were comitted to our sport and we weren't scared for a challenge. We both knew that if we kept up with our schoolwork, our work, our riding, and our fitness, we would be unstoppable.
