Among the deep coloured leaves of the ancient trees, an ivy covered stone ruin of what was once the manor of a 19th century Lord, a manor now filled with forgotten of memories, a young girl sat. She had her knees tight to her chest, head buried in parchment, and was scribbling a letter. Dark hair plaited round the side of her head, resting against a Pine Green Cloak.

The forest was secluded, owned by the Black family, who had built their own manor there. A branch of the family practically lost and forgotten about. They had secluded themselves when their father had become an outcast, unsupportive of her family's opinions and treatment. The manor was under an enchantment. Only a witch or wizard with the surname of Black can see the house, therefore no one knew it existed.

To an outsider of their family, they looked like people frozen in an older time period, unfamiliar with the modern world. Their existence even remains unknown to the rest of their noble house.

The girl dipped her quill in the ink and finished the letter with the date. August 24th, 1971. Her parents had recently received her Hogwarts letter, to their shock. At least 100 years worth of generations living in that manor had missed out on their letter, being home-schooled by their parents. Yet somehow, someone had discovered her. Or was it a mistake? Surely not. She was to attend on the 1st of September. Gracefully, she stood up and passed through the mossy archway of her home, revealing a strong, wooden door.

At 12 Grimmauld Place, a young, rebellious boy sat in the room with the tapestry of his family. He watched his mother burn off another name. He had once received the unwanted opportunity to meet each member still alive on the tree, much to his disgust. Each snotty, outdated pure-blood. There were very few people he had liked on the tree, one being one of his cousins, Andromeda Black, who was a few years older than him. Another being his uncle, Alphard.

He had been forced to listen to countless stories of each person's achievements, yet his eye caught a person he did not remember being informed about. Eduardus Black. Barely visible on the fabric now, as the name had been burned off.

"Mother?" Sirius asked, pointing at the scorch mark. "Who is Eduardus? What did he do, if I may ask?"

His mother blew the smoke from the end of her wand and squinted at the fading name.

"I believe he was brother of your Great Great Great Grandfather, and was involved in a scandal. He was banished for finding contact with his illegitimate half-sister. He moved somewhere else in England, yet wasn't heard of again. He may have a family somewhere, hopefully he married a pure-blood who knocked some sense into him. Why do you ask?" She questioned her son, curious about his sudden interest.

"I only Wondered."

His mother narrowed her eyes slightly but dismissed him.

Among the hills of Scotland, Dumbledore sat in his office, located at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, pondering over this year's Hogwarts acceptance letters. McGonagall sat in front of the desk, scanning through the list of magical children, ranging from pure-blooded to muggle-born.

*Alice Isla Bisson- muggle-borm

*Ellis Jude Bistell- muggle-born

*Sirius Orion Black-pure-blood

The head of Gryffindor paused and sighed at the name. Another Black.

"Albus, Sirius Black is to attend this year."

The old headmaster's eyes twinkled. "I suspect that he will be different from the rest, Minerva. Do not judge him until you meet him."

*Ophelia Cordelia Black- pure-blood

"What? Who is this? Another relative? Not one of Walberga and Orion's though." She mumbled under her breath.

Dumbledore looked over at the sheet in her hands and read the name aloud. "Ophelia..." He flecked his wrist, his wand swishing through the air. A file of records appeared, showing the address of the individual.

"She appears to live in a manor in a concealed area. Phineas? who is this?"

For once he was sat in his portrait listening, not sleeping. "I overheard a conversation between my Great Great Grandson and his mother the other day, he asked about an unknown relative of his, who happens to be my grandfather's brother. He, like I, was blasted off the family tapestry for something completely unreasonable. He apparently moved somewhere else in England, yet there are no traces of him, or any potential family, so therefore I would say this Ophelia of which you speak of is a descendant."

Dumbledore pondered this. "That is plausible. I think this will be a very interesting year, Minerva, don't you agree?"

She closed her eyes for a second, trying to process this. "Bloody Pure-bloods" She muttered.

Her eyes scanned further still down the list.

*Remus John Lupin- half-blood(werewolf)

He heard a practically inaudible gasp and glanced over. "I have made special arrangements for this boy, he deserves an education despite being inflicted with a curse."

McGonagall didn't argue, for she had given up. Utter madness, this is all madness, she thought

*James Fleamont Potter- Pure-blood

"Finally another Potter. I think Gryffindor may have won the Quidditch cup"
