The sun was now at its highest, clouds tumbled through the sky, accompanied by birds of all kinds. Soon the train started rolling along the tracks. The three boys sat comfortably, each had already ordered snacks on the trolley. Remus maid his way to shut the compartment door when his eye caught a lonely person walking through the corridor. He peered out and spoke to the girl. "Hey, are you ok?" She looked up at the sudden voice, her thoughts vanishing. "Yes, thank you. I just need to find a carriage to join. I don't know anyone here."

"Neither do I. Would you like to join mine? There's two others, we've all just introduced ourselves." Remus smiled.

She considered it for a moment, weighing the options in her head, before settling on a yes. She followed closely behind, and stopped in the doorway of their carriage, unsure of what to say.

"Hey, wanna join us?" James asked, biting into a pumpkin pasty. Sirius noticed it was the same girl as before, intriguing him. She smiled slightly and sat down next to Remus, fiddling with the end of her sleeve.

"My name is Ophelia. Pleasure to meet you." She spoke with a light accent.

James peered at the group. "So...what houses are we all wanting to be in?"

Sirius grimaced slightly before answering. "My whole family's been in Slytherin."

"Blimey," said James, "and I thought you seemed alright!" Sirius grinned.

"Maybe I'll break the tradition. Where are you heading, if you've got the choice?"

James lifted an invisible sword. "Gryffindor, where dwell the brave at heart!" Like my dad."

Remus raised his explosive lemonade drink in the air in agreement.

Eyes turned to Ophelia. "Houses?" She replied, confused.

"Yeah... Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw? You don't know?" Remus frowned. How could someone who was going to Hogwarts not know basic knowledge about it?

"My family have lived isolated from the rest of the world for at least a hundred years. I didn't know this school existed until my parents received my letter," She shrugged.

"Wow. Are you pure-blood, by chance? I just thought- I mean-" Sirius rambled, elbows resting on his thighs, his hands clasped together.

"Yes, though I am unsure of what it means to be a pure-blood, or half-blood. I Don't believe it matters in any way?" She raised her eyebrow, eyes boring into Sirius.

"No, not really. You've got a thing called the Sacred-"

"Twenty Eight. I have heard of it, but I don't know what it is." She cut off James.

"The surnames that are part of it are the ones that are still considered to be 'truly' Pure-blood. Unlike mine apparently."

Sirius and Remus perked up. "What's yours then?"

"Potter. Apparently my surname is common for muggles so we were taken off the list a long time ago. Also something about 'tainted blood', whatever the hell that is. Remus? What are you?"

Remus shrugged, "Half-blood. My father is pure-blood though. He works at the ministry."

Sirius sighed dramatically, swiping his hand through his hair.

"I am also pure-blood, and if you really must know, and hopefully you won't judge me differently for it, my name is Sirius Black. Yes you all heard me correctly, no I don't want to be a death eater, no I am not evil."

"Black? I get what you mean with the whole Slytherin family thing then."

"Your surname is Black?" Ophelia narrowed her eyes, and Sirius hoped he wasn't about to lose a friend he had made not even an hour ago.

"Yes? Is that a problem?"

"No, and yes, seeing as I my name is Ophelia Black." The three looked confused, Sirius looking shocked, staring open eyed at her.

"We got a family reunion going on here then" James muttered, glancing between the two.

"Guess we are related then. There's no other pure-blood family name with Black other than mine so we're probably distant cousins or something. Oh Merlin you're not like the rest of them are you? Taught the dark arts and encouraged to treat muggles like dirt and all that rubbish? Because I swear-"

"Calm yourself, remember the whole 'My family has been isolated for a hundred years'? I couldn't care less about blood status, especially since I haven't even met another person my age apart from my cousins with magic before now. Chances are our families are tied together a hundreds of years ago at least so we're most likely extremely distant cousins or something."

Sirius grinned. "Looks like I have a new favourite cousin then. We should do some research at some point, I would like to know."

Ophelia smiled, "As would I, I know nothing about my family."
