Chapter 4: Bike ride

Hanni's POV:

Before we left the cafe, I saw Minji walking towards a... bike? Minji offered me to ride but i refused. Bitch aint no way ur making me ride on that thang 😭. Minji just shrugged me off and started pedaling on her bike.

"You know your life would be easier if you just come and ride the bike with me."

Yeah right as if i'd surrender that easily.

"Hanni look out!"

Oh fuck.

The next thing I know is that my face is planted on the ground. Fine Minji, you win, ill get on the stupid bike.

"Hey you know, you should be aware of your surroundings next time."
Minji tries to help me up by offering a hand. I saw her pull a water bottle out of her bag and started rinsing my scratched knee.

I can't help but look at how she's treating me. come to think of it, I don't really know the reason why I hate her. I mean she's been treating me nicely, and I feel like-

"Hello? earth to Hanni?"

My thoughts were interrupted with her hands waving side to side.

"Hanni stand up, we gotta get you home before that wound gets worse."
I heard her say as she pulled out a hand to help me stand up.

"ah-"
I didn't have any words to say, all i could do was obey.

"Now be careful, get on the bike easily"
as she cautiously help me get on the bike. I saw her take a helmet out of her bag and said;
"Here, you can use my helmet for now."

She then wrapped the helmet around my head and buckled it tight. She quickly got on the bike and looked back at me.

"Hold on tight, wouldn't wanna loose ya on the way alright?"

I saw her look back with a flash of smile before we took off.

*Badum* *Badum* *Badum*
(what is that melody?!)

Honestly what was that feeling? I couldn't help but clench my fist and hold it right next to my chest. I'm probably just infatuated with the fact that no body other than my family had cared for me like this...

"Here, give me your hands"

I felt her grab my hands and looped it around her waist.

"Now we're off to go!"

I can feel the breeze touch my skin. The road was pretty bumpy and I couldn't help but hold onto Minji tighter. I looked up and witnessed how the moon shined bright as it reflects on her dark brown eyes. Maybe she's not the bitch I thought she would be, but I still don't know if she likes Heesung. I don't even know if she knows that Heesung likes her...

"The night's pretty young and I'm a lil hungry, wanna grab something to snack on before you go?"

Yes perfect timing! I can finally ask Minji about Heesung.

"Uh yeah sure, I suppose so why not?"
I answered in delight, but yk i have to keep it lowkey.

Minji slowed down the bike and stopped at the nearby convenient store. We started walking towards the entrance but Minji tried to get a head of me.

"Ladies first"
I witnessed her open the door and signaling me to go in.

"Aren't you a lady too?" I chuckled and entered.

"Well I am, but I am a gentle woman who cares for other women."

Bruh why she so cheesy im getting icks rn. I cant help but cringe at her statement.

"I'm just playing, I usually just let people go in first. It's a pretty bad habit of mine since last time I opened the door for everyone who walked in the school. I've been known as the 'door-girl' after that."

I laughed in response. This girl really is interesting huh?

"Well yeah no shot you literally stayed there for like an hour."

I saw her scratch her nape, Lol maybe she's embarrassed about it.

"Anyways, lets get whatever quickly so i wont be able to miss my bus."
There, I tried changing the subject just to save her face.

Third person POV:

The two quickly got what they wanted and went straight to the cashier.

"Is that all for today ma'am?"
The handsome cashier asked the shorter girl.

"Yes."
Hanni responded shortly as she tried to open her apple pay.

"Debit, cash or number?"
The cashier smoothly asked while flashing a smirk.

Somehow Hanni didn't hear the cashiers's flirty remarks since she's having issues with her face id.

'This stupid sh*t- cmon now work work workkkk!' she thought.

At this point Hanni looked stupidly funny trying to put scan her face on various different angles.

"Debit"

They were running out of time, so Minji quickly tapped her card before Hanni could get a hold of the machine.

"Uh- Here's your receipt"
The worker passed.
Minji smirked as she took the receipt. The girl was relieved that Hanni didn't hear anything about what the cashier said.

"AHA finally!"
Hanni smiled widely because she finally unlocked her apple id.

"I think you're too late for that, I already paid for your stuff. We gotta hurry up because we don't wanna miss the bus yk. It's probably gonna be the last bus for today so we better chop chop."

After hearing Minji say the last part, Hanni glanced over her phone to look at the time.

'9:58'

The girls only have 2 minutes left

"Shit Minji lets go!"

Time was passing by quickly, and Minji's pedalling as fast as she could.

"Hurry up Minji the bus is leaving!"

Minji couldn't say anything back because of her running out of breath. Luckily for them they caught the bus just on time.

"Hey, before you leave, take this" Minji said handing over Hanni a box of Hello Kitty band aids.

Hanni couldn't help but smile at the nice gesture.

'How cute..' she thought; looking at the box and back to Minji who was outside waving bye.
