My name is Andrea and I am 17 years old.  I was known in town for my courage and confidence, but those things ran out on me when I needed them the most. One evening, on my way home from a friend's house, I passed by an alley in the middle of town. Then these older boys started to slowly walk towards me. I wasn't scared at first but that changed very quickly.

The first mumbled "Well boys, what do we have here?"

I knew then something bad was going to happen. They started running towards me and grabbed my arms, one on each side. After that, I had a sack over my head and was being smuggled into some sort of vehicle. I kicked and kicked, but they just wouldn't let go. I screamed until I could scream no more. We drove for what felt like hours. I didn't know where they were taking me, but I kept praying to God that everything would turn out alright.

Soon enough, we stopped. When they pulled me out of the car, I struggled again. I eventually got free, but not for long. Another one of the guys caught up to me and grabbed me. I yelled, "Stop!!! Let go of me!!!", but he didn't let go. He dragged me back to the others by the collar of my shirt, and together they pulled me into a nearby cabin and tied me to a chair. I was so scared of what they were going to do with me.

 ...

Meanwhile, my parents were worried sick. They didn't know where I was or what happened to me. My mom tried calling my cell, but it was in the backseat of my kidnapper's car. So, my dad wanted to call the police.

"Where could she be Leonard?!?!?" my mother asked my father.

"I don't know, Lidia!!" he replied.

"Maybe we should call the police," my mother said.

"Her phone might be dead. Let's wait until her curfew," my dad replied.

...

My kidnappers were starting to beat me. All the while they were taking swigs of liquor out of a huge flask. One, started slapping me (you could tell he was getting drunk). The others held him back until he calmed down. I could barely make out what they whispered to him. Something about not wanting it to be too quick. Want what to be too quick? Were they talking about my death? Oh god!! Please help me! The first guy grabbed my mouth with such force I figured it would be bruised in the morning.... if I made it until morning. Next thing I know, they untied me, and then locked the door. The boys thought it would be fun to play chase before they abused me more. It was easy to dodge, duck, and run for it because they were clearly getting tired and sick to their stomachs from all of the drinking. I was kind of getting sick myself. They ran into each other once in awhile which I thought was my chance to escape, but they would always get up to soon. Soon the boys, fell over entirely and drifted into sleep. This was my chance!!!!

I slowly crept over to the locked door and opened it. We weren't that far from the highway, so I ran for it. One of the boys woke up after I left and started to sprint after me. I thought I was done for until light flashed by. Cars headlights flashed by!!! I was close to it, so close. I stopped at the edge of the road waiting for a car, but as soon as one came around the bend the first guy tackled me to the ground. He started punching and slapping me in the face so hard that I started to cry. I could feel my face swelling and drenched in flowing blood.

When the car passed, the woman came to abrupt stop. She jumped out of the car with a can of pepper spray in hand and sprayed my attacker. I was so glad to be found. The lady called 911 right away. When the police arrived, the first boy was still in pain from the pepper spray, and he gave away the location of the cabin where his friends were still sleeping. I was rushed to the hospital because my face wouldn't stop bleeding. Soon after, my parents showed up at the hospital. They were so happy to see me, even if my face was still swollen and caked in blood. My parents hugged me, and as they did I told them I loved them both. I said it so sluggishly from the morphine that my mom both laughed and started to cry at the same time.

I put my abduction behind me, but I never forgot what happened that night.  My story was heard nationwide because I was the girl who never had anything bad happen to me, but something did when I least expected it. My name is Andrea, and I am the girl who used to have no fears. I was brave and confident all the time, until I was abducted in my own town. The day those boys took me was the scariest day of my life!!!!!
