The walls were holding, and thanks to the new and enormous wall forged from the corpses of Petrified Grimm all fused together, it would hold just a bit longer. Hellfire Tanks walked up the rocky remains of Grimm, using their mechanical treaded legs to scale it, and once atop it, they drilled themselves into the rock to anchor themselves in place.

They fired their cannons; the recoil blowing the fresh dust and ash off the stone, but luckily remaining stable. Shells hailed down onto the Oncoming Shadow, blowing hundreds of Grimm to smithereens with every single one landed. But they just kept coming, not slowing down one bit.

Kragen walked back inside the walls of the Keep with his people, Ruby at her side. The Architect approached as well, still covered in black blood from the battle. "How's our window?" Kragen asked.

"Still need to hold the Grimm off for at least another hour, by my calculations." The Architect explained.

"Another hour? That was only thirty minutes and hundreds of our people are already dead... and we've been pushed inside." Ruby stammered, her hands shaking erratically, but Oscar ran to her side and she immediately hugged him, relieved to see him still standing. Kassius walked past them and rolled his shoulder, panting as he rested his hand against the wall, wiping the blood off his face. Yang quickly came to his side as well, checking him for any injuries.

"I'm good." He promised. "Just... need a second." He panted.

Kragen looked around at everyone now inside the walls. "The castle has held for thousands of years. This may be its last battle, but by the Gods it will not fail us tonight. It will help us buy the time we need for the Relics to be successfully contained." Kragen explained.

"Well, the few Atlesian Knights and Golems that the Witches conjured are out there still fighting, but I doubt they'll last much longer. How long do you think the Tanks and Heavies out there will be able to hold them back?" Qrow asked as he landed beside them, exiting his Corvid Form.

"If we're lucky? Up to ten minutes..." Kragen answered.

"And that's if we're lucky... we still don't know what else Umbra has up his sleeve." Ruby said as Yang walked over to join the conversation, still catching her breath.

"You all saw what I saw, right? Umbra in the sky? Fighting the Maidens?" Yang asked.

"Yeah, and Umbra throwing a bunch of Moon Fragments into Remnant? Hard to miss that... we're lucky the castle didn't get hit." Qrow agreed.

"We all knew how this battle was gonna end... we just need to try to give ourselves as much time as we can... I'm just worried about when he sends his heavy hitters in." Ruby stated.

"You mean the Knights of Grimm and the Demons?" Yang asked.

"Or when he just attacks in person. We know the bastard is capable of anything." Ruby added.

More soldiers ran past, getting more ammo up onto the walls, and Paladins marched through the Gates to stand on the wall of stone. "I'm heading up to the wall. Need to keep the Grimm from scaling them." Ruby said.

"I'm with you." Yang promised.

"We all are." Kassius agreed, cracking his neck and his eyes glowing amber, still ready to unleash Hyde whenever the hour called for it. Ruby ran first, sprinting up the steps to the wall, where everyone else was getting ready for the next wave of Grimm. Constant cannon fire erupted from beyond the wall, where the Hellfire Tanks, Paladins, Juggernauts and the two remaining Colossi fired everything they had.

As she ran up, she passed by Penny. "Dad? Dad?" she called into her scroll.

"We're still fighting... but our ammo reserves are dropping, soon we will be defenceless." Ortega replied.
