                                                                               -Buried Mistake. -

'One last breath.'

'Just. one. To go back in time.'

'For my heart to beat once again.'

'Another life, just like a cat when it falls. To get back on its legs and repeat

Like nothing.'

'I call the grim and ask for another chance.'

'Revenge will soon be mine.'

*My heart beats, everything is ringing. As if a bomb had blown near me, it was dark. It felt as if my lungs were suffocating begging for air to be found. I moved my hands, even with no vision I forced myself to sweep with frustration as if my surroundings were soft as dirt. It feels like I have been buried alive yet, it never felt like I've died. The dirt was heavy, it didn't keep me from digging up. Again, and again and again, I never grew tired.

I had dedication, determination, and confidence, my soul felt dense, yet I wanted to reach the surface. My goal. My destination. It is everything to me. I wanted to breathe that air again, I felt the surface grow near but, why is it blue?....I didn't reincarnate into some fish did I? However, that was soon answered as to my surprise I was surrounded by a body of water. Chains we're around my waist, I felt itchy as if gills had taken over my neck. A scaly feeling along my almost human-like body, my heart skipped a beat as I looked down. I was like some sort of mermaid, but something was off. I wouldn't care if I became a fairytale instead, I became the opposite. It felt as if I were a siren instead. Sirens and mermaids always were compared to look alike. I wasn't even comparing. I was confused, my tail wasn't full, it was just a skeleton. No meat, no muscles, just bones and a fin!?

My upper body and the rest of me was flesh and bones but what happened to the rest of me? I had arms, chest, a face, hair, eyes, EVERYTHING a human would need but legs, or shall I say tail? My hands we're also different. Dark ink claws were in replacement of my hands, bandages wrapped around it. For some reason, I barely remember how I died then again injuries of a ghost or poltergeist usually show how they died right? I had no injuries, no scars, nothing just bandages. My face felt damaged, I rubbed my face with my hand to feel something indented on my right eye. It felt like a scar. How long have I been down there? Years? Months? WEEKS? However, my wish came true, I couldn't be a ghost. I'm physically here. I can feel the ocean currents go past me, I can hear the dolphins and whales swimming across calling for each other, I swam up, yet a force was pulling me down. How could I have forgotten? There were chains around my waist, it seemed it was connected to the ground. But where? I swam down to see my grave. The place I crawled out of just like a zombie, something was in-graved on it. 'Thelxiepi' was that my name? From my knowledge it must be a name by one of the river god's daughters, however I'm not one of them. Maybe that's just my name for now.

On the other hand, I need to get these chains off so I can fully be freed, so I grabbed a rock and started to hit the chains like a complete maniac. It wasn't working. With full force I slashed it with my claws to my surprise it took a little damage, so I kept going until it was at its last. A few hours later I finally was able to break the chains, it slipped off my waist as I swam at full speed up to the surface, the sunlight beamed on my dark skin and the ocean water, I felt alive even with this skeleton fish-like body. I closed my eyes, this felt nice.

"DO YOU NEED HELP?!" A voice called; my eyes shot back open "WHAT? NO IM NOT-" I was interrupted as a rope was suddenly wrapped around me, I gasped and yelped, afterwards groaning in annoyance did I look as if I was drowning? No. Is this person an absolute idiot? Maybe. I was dropped into the ground looking upwards. A light minty green skinned person with pink short hair and mint green horns with devil like wings hovered above me. As I was about to say something she randomly lifted up my skeleton tail and looked at me with a "what the hell" kind of stare. The only reason why she must've have given me this kind of look was possibly how the other half of me was partially okay and in the bottom, not so much "What are you? And how are you alive, your tail is literally missing. And I mean your flesh and organs." The girl asked, still holding my boney tail. "I guess you can say a siren?" I answered, awkwardly shrugging on the floor, she blinked twice and busted out in laughter.
