Harry felt a new wave of tears flow over his chubby cheeks. He felt nothing but guilt and anger towards no one but himself for disobeying his mummy's orders. If it weren't for his misconduct, this time today he could be letting Anne brush his hair with her fingers and lullying himself to sleep with the sounds of Mr. Owl's hooting. Now he sat in the scary realm of the underworld with the Lord of souls pressuring him to eat.
"Open your mouth, my love." Harry shook his head once more, not even bothering to hide his fear behind his crescent-like eyes. It was now midday and Louis suggests it is time for them to eat supper. Louis frightened Harry more then he wished to, especially since earlier he'd left quite a mess from his earlier fit of anger. Harry felt absolutely foolish for sassing the being he most feared, as if this were all some twisted dream. The dinner table wasn't exactly the creepiest place ever like he expected, yet Harry still felt way out of place.
Harry mumbles, "My Lord, I do not wish to eat. I have no desire to." He remains polite to stay on Louis' good side. It's so intense with such a long table only occupied by two people sat so close to one another. Louis literally was breathing down his neck.
He could see the frown formed on the God's face. "You must. You haven't eaten all day. Do not starve yourself, Goddess. Please."
The food looked ravishing. Sauteed bear claw was one of his favorite meals, along with steamed vegetables like broccoli and cabbage. It was definitely a plus to be half human to consume human foods and not be limited to only food of the Gods.
"I'm just not hungry. I want to go home." Harry refuses to let Louis see him cry, so he pushes the food away from him and looks away from the set of dark eyes. They made Harry's skin heat in ways he didn't understand. Louis caressed his cheek which further added to Harry's blushing fit. It felt wrong to feel this way when your mummy is so far away.
"Darling, you must understand. You belong to me now. I can not help the feelings that have surfaced because of you, and I am not sure I even understand them myself."
"How can you say you have feelings for me? Love me? You haven't even seen me until today," Harry whispers.
The Dark ruler sighs. "I suppose it was a first glance impulse, but a strong one, no doubt." Louis tilts the young demi-god's chin to meet eye contact, and Harry is surprised to see Louis' eyes a calm blue. Much calmer than Harry's sure he's ever seen. Harry's mother told him how love changes people, but Harry isn't sure if she meant physically or spiritually. "My you're a fascinating creature. Green eyes are such a delicacy these days and it figures you of all gods would be one to obtain them."
"Green is for botany, since I am a god of plants," Harry explains, feeling better at the mention of his passtime.
"Goddess, you mean," Louis corrects. "You're much too beautiful to be a God. Goddess suites you much more."
After several failed attempts at getting Harry to eat, Louis suggests he show Harry to their bedroom. The weight of tension in the room lessened a bit and Louis was forever grateful for this. His Goddess need not fear him and the process of trust was forming slowly but surely.
"Bedroom? What is that, my Lord?"
"Oh dear me, you know not what a bed room is?" Louis asks, truly stumped. "It slips my mind that you and your mother survive off the wilderness."
At the mention of his mother Harry swallows and forces the tears away, still very afraid of life in the underworld.
Harry was revealed Louis' humongous bedroom that held a long king-sized bed and a table with what appears to be a reflective portal looking back at him.
"There is another me copying my movements," Harry tells Louis in hopes that he's notice it as well. Just from the way Harry latches onto him makes Louis' skin tingle, proving that Harry had left an impression on him more than what meets the eye.
"That is called a mirror, my dear. It's only you. See, I'm in it as well." Louis demonstrates by waving a hand at the mirror for it to copy his movements. Harry, in front of him, begins making silly faces at it and Louis can't help but to think how good they look together. The little Goddess surely met his standards and then some.
Louis begins to wrap an arm around the boy's waist but Harry was having none of it and jumped away. "Excuse me, your highness."
It brings a frown to his face yet he chooses to ignore the hurt feelings arising in his stomach. "It's getting late. I feel it is time for us to lay down."
Harry nods and begins to take off his dress.
"My darling, what are you doing?" Louis asks, voice raising and feelings arising at the display Harry was about to present him. Immortality wouldn't be enough to keep him alive if Harry was naked in front of him.
"Preparing for bed," the young god tells him as if it is obvious. "I shall undress and sleep on the floor. It will be hard with out mother's lullaby," he adds sadly.
"Please refrain. Do you not own pajamas? And why would you sleep on the floor? There's our bed right here."
Louis calls for Niall to fetch Harry sleeping attire and partially minds him having yet to cleanse himself.
"Thank you, Niall. Do me a favor and make sure every soul is accounted for?" he asks Niall, who rolls his eyes and hands him the clothing for Harry.
"Sure, why not? It's not like it won't take me another three hours." He quickly storms away making Louis chuckle at the fact that his servant has gotten this lazy from not having to do anything. Since Louis was always bored and lonely, he chose to do the most to occupy himself. It kept him from going completely mad, at times.
Harry eyes the silky night gown. "Looks almost the same as the one I had on."
Louis doesn't look at his love's change of clothing impulsively as he wished to, because again, he had a kingdom to rule, a world to balance, and he can not do so in death. "Now what, sire?"
Louis turns to see Harry has removed his flower crown, and wow, his hair is long and beautiful and he amazes Louis more and more every minute. The gown looks brilliant on him.
"Now come, my dear, it is time for you to rest."
The ruler lays down on the bed, motioning Harry to follow him. The goddess hesitantly walks on the plushy mattress suspiciously. "Will this object devour me in the dead of night?"
"No it won't. How about you bounce a bit and make your own assumptions of this." It takes a minute before Harry humored the idea and did a test bounce, springing back up just as quickly. He quickly finds a rhythm.
"Wee! Wee! Wee!" he laughs with each new bounce, higher than the last. The ceiling is nonexistent so Louis has no fear of his Goddess bumping his head. Even so, all that hair would act as the perfect shield. "I love this bed!" he giggles merrily, like a tiny kid who's just discovered something new.
"I love it too, and I'd love it even more with you in it," Lord Louis quips, only somewhat cheekily.
Harry frowns and ceases to jump. His once happy feeling quickly fades away and the feeling of sadness re-enters. "I- I am sleeping with you?"
"I don't bite," Louis smirks, fangs prominent in his smile making Harry want to run and hide in his mother's smokewood-smelling, curly hair.
Harry fights back tears and notices the candlelight on the table blow out. He feels Louis pull him down under the blanket of softness he has yet to be used to. Normally around this time, mother would tell him a story of the star constellations that map the sky of his uncle's creation. The stories would fascinate Harry. Over-excite him to the point where he'd tire himself out and cozy into his mother's loving arms. Now his body belonged to the most evilest of Gods and he'd never hear another exciting tale again. And so he began to silently weep.
After a while of Harry quietly sobbing into the pillow, he hears a sigh escape Louis' mouth and he releases Harry. Louis rises from the bed, and Harry can make out his figure sinking to the floor in the dark.
Harry sat up in confusion for a long time before remembering Lord Louis could read minds.
